Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

SKOmad, have you seen the other one, alains one? grey, chrome enkei wave wheels (noly set in the country), chrome arch trim, red interior?? mike, yeah we got back fine i know theres various coachbuilt ones about, but i don't think theres one thats 'right' that one above is the closest ive seen, but the c pillar looks a bit dodgy. it needs to have less forwards rake, like the w123 estate pic i posted.

Surely you can lop the roof off and transfer that?

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

Surely you can lop the roof off and transfer that? *n could do but the tailgate is furked too, and it would be easier to find the little bugs that live on poor quality wobbly children's play pony poo. you'd also have to fab a rear end that looked right, which would be a pain in the neck. for a less awkward build i think cr500dom's got the right idea, swap fronts.

swopping fronts is NOT what i want to do, i don't care about ease of build, i know i have the skills to pull it off.(see my bug ) if I'm gunna do it, I'm gunna do it right. i want to keep all the 115 features, the door shape, dash, handles, arch shape, bumpers, etc.etc. i basically need the back half of the car from the trimline up, incuding the rear doors, then the roof all the way to the screen. also the tailgate, and rear slam panel, rear seat and interior etc. most of it is gunna have to be sectioned to hell anyway, I'm not just gunna shove it on, if i have to cut it into 300 bits, i will!!

Top idea dez. I have mused over what a W115 estate might look like myself! Brave project, but it'll totally be worth it!

I'm not quite andy saunders!! but its a '49 bug, chopped 7", shortened 13" on the rear 1/4s, smoothed out arches, suicide doors in progress the old school way, swopping the lower frames side to side, channeled 4" and itll be bare metal when finished. on, and the chassis will be a conventional twinrail chassis, 283 sbc and 2 speed iornglide, runnig out back to a ford 9", spinning sone 8.90x15 blackwall crossplies. ive got the parts, just gotta get the body done before i fit the chassis around it all rest of the pics- photobucket.com/albums/v617/dezaster/my%20volksrod/
