No idea. Probably be able to adapt something else if they were. Or just put in in your recycling bin.

I just wiki'd the CA71 Alto, is that right? TWO-SPEED auto? (visions of 750cc triple hooked up to Powerglide out of Chevy )

I can't imagine you driving one of those AK, buy it at once! If the brake pads wear out, just make a new pair out of MDF, these things only weigh about 500g so they'll last OK.
The previous model Alto was a 2-speed auto, maybe these ones get the bonus of that elusive 3rd cog. I think these are made/sold in India as a Maruti? Ideal for driving to work at the 'Norwich Union' call centre! 'Is there anything else I can help you with today sir'

Saw one of these in traffic on the M6 yesterday. It had no bumpers and looked awesome!

I drove a manual Alto once, great fun but so narrow that even I could wind the passenger side window down without moving in my seat - and nowhere to fit your left (in your case right) arm, you need to drive it with the window open ;-)
It drove off as soon as you let the clutch pedal come up, no throttle needed, and it sounded pretty good! Checked a few parts prices over here, seem the same as the prices for my 1991 Starlet.

Mrs Ku is not sharing my vision of this as ideal motoring. I did try and point out it costs the same as 2 months bus pass, or just a little more than one payment on her PT Cruiser but for some reason I was talking to the hand by this point. LOL

I know nothing about them, other than they don't stand up well to accidents, as this one willingly demonstrates with it's deformed roof panel!

I've had a nasty urge to lob a bid on that one myself, it is truly fantastic/terrible all at once. Plus it'll cost me the (current) purchase price to MoT my Golf this year no doubt...

Is it wrong that I'd take the Alto over the PT Cruiser?
