Have had this in the back of my mind since I bought my eBay bargain Rocco @ £104 - fitting a 1.8 16v from Corrado / MKII Golf. The thing is, I don't want the injection system. So has anyone here done a similar conversion / know of a contact point who has? What else would I need to upgarde - brakes, fuel lines, suspension etc.......? I'd like to replace the injection with either twin webers or quad throttle bodies. Or, is there an easier, better and cheaper way? - 2.2 Audi maybe?

I've see them running twin DCOE Webbers, doubt it's that hard to do

Danny Allen did it on his Mk1 Golf... (although I think he used VERY rare VW Motorsport parts for it)
Might be worth posing the question on ClubGTI and/or Edition38 Forums....

Is your 'Rocco digifant, k-jet injection or carb at the moment? Plenty of people on ClubGTI who have transplanted a 16v into a 'Rocco or Mk1 Golf (same chassis) with carbs, have a search on the forum there for info

Edition 38 no-rice.com club-gti Motorgeek Are all good sources of info... will in some ways be easier without keeping Digifant etc as its then an entirely mechanical system. If you want to go Throttle bodies then I do have a selection ;D

I gather it's a 2ltr? Looks about the right size to fit the Rocco....... Was thinking more of supercharger. Its a 1.8, 130 bhp. its the 'classic' fiat TC i think. If you're gonna get a turbo on it, you may as well find a Delta HF/Integrale 2.0 engine, and if you want a supercharger, a Beta Volumex would equate fairly closely....

if i may, i'd like to add another site to the list of possible sources of info... www.dubforce.net - a good bunch of peeps, some very likeable loonatics amongst them!! as for engines into a mk2 rocco, where do we start... 1.8 16v ala mk2 golf, ok, not the most powerful but apparently very easy to do (after all, you could buy a rocco with this engine iirc!) more interesting would be to stick it on carbs or ITBs, but then it would be better using a 2.0l 16v from the mk3 golf (ABF engine code) hows about using a G60 engine - 8v 1.8 Supercharged, 160bhp outta the box, lurrvvvley noise to boot ! and then theres everyones new fave... the 1.8 20v turbo from many a VAG model - mk4 golf, Audi TT, S3, Seat Leon etc etc. -- big power available, plenty of engines available at a cost, its been proven to work before too !! Hope this helps Steve
