I have just acquired this Raleigh bmx and was wondering if anyone could identify it? i know its atleast pre 1987, probably more like 1985? i think its all fairly original apart from the tyres. I think its definately worth a full restoration though whatever it is. I was hoping to get some original stickers made up for it if i can find out what it is. thanks

No it's not a burner,..... Raliegh burners had a gusset plate with 2 holes in on the frame and the bottom of the forks on a burner were striaght..... could be a raliegh styler......

maybe a styler. my styler was light blue with white mags. got it at the scrap yard, with a van full of bikes. sold it, with a aero burner and a mongoose to someone on a bike site, for £20.
stylers were similar to mark 2 burners. which used the slimmer seat pin.

funny you should say that, ive just registered on the raleigh burner forum. gay thing is though you have to post atleast 3 times and wait 3 days before you can put a picture up!
theres quite a few saying its a chrome burner at the minute and to be honest that the closest matching model ive seen so far. i'll let the burner boys give the final say on it.

its either a chrome burner. or a super burner with the gold removed, could be as old as 84.

its not a super burner as they had superchromed chain guards and it would problee have some evidence of superchrome on the frame some where (on the welds or drop outs as it sticks well there) its worth a resto as it looks original down to the grips tyres and seat. stickers and pads are all available and if you need any info just ask me.. I have three grands worth of these in the garage... oh and if that is chrome (pic makes it look kinda silver painted)then its deffo a MK2 chrome burner

awesome cheers stuey.
its definately a chrome finish on the frame etc though. the guy i got it off hadnt used it since uni and he's now 32 so its looking a bit worse for wear at the minute. the pic i took are literally the condition i found it in. i'll give it a clean up and get some better pics up.

Jealous! I've been looking for a swingbike for ages now. Ended up with a Chopper to keep myself happy for a while until I want a swingbike again. lol
