I quite enjoyed it. nice to see a little more of the mechanics being done and less of brewer driving someone elses car like a loon! mind you, not so keen on the "reality" style of filming, tends to make me a bit sick then they zoom in/out and wobble the camera around so much. still, something decent to watch

They really have no idea about wheels do they.....they hate the wheels on the Merc too! As soon as I saw those wheels and thought to myself 'mmm, those look alright' I knew their comment would be 'look at these wheels, they're rubbish, they need to come off'. I liked the way Edd was surprised that he made money off those and the steering wheel - course you did, they're actually rather nice items! As said already though, it's good something like this is even on TV so mustn't grumble.

How good did that Merc look on the x-spokes when it had the hard top on? Putting it back to standard was probably the best move to sell it though.

I too liked the wheels!

just watched the beemer 635ci episode on utube - the car owes him 3085, sells for 3700
BUT, he didnt pay ed for any labour:
1. New Exhaust fitted 2. 2 full interiors removed, and one fitted 3. couple of bushes renewed and strut brace added 4. wheels swap ( 8 wheels on and off) 5. wash and polish 6. window rubbers changed and of course general checking over of the car
i wonder how much profit he would have made after paying garage rate labour of those jobs?

Exhaust - couple of hours - £100 Interior - several hours to do it properly - £150-200 Bushes - couple of hours - £100 Wheels - half an hour - £25 Valet - £50 Window Rubbers - got to take a bit of time, so £100
Probably about £200 profit, and if comeone has taken a day off to view/collect car, and a day to sort/sell, then it must be down to less than £50 :-)

Despite the obvious stupid bits, Mike and Edd are nice blokes and the show is fun to watch!
Did anyone go to Classic Car live at the NEC last year? Edd was doing up a mk2 Golf GTi which was a laugh.

a friend of mine currently owns the 205 gti they did. The log book still has the production companies details on it as aparently the lady that bought it on the program was actaully just a member of the crew.

yup, I sold it a few weeks ago, so I must be the 'guy' previously mentionned in this thread... I've known the car since it was bought from them, and indeed i still had the V5 which stated previous owner to be 'Attaboy TV Productions LTD' The gear linkage wasn't the cause of the white smoke, it was just very poorly edited, which it made it look that way, if you watch it carefully. The car's now quite sound apart from some odd rust, but it has had ALOT of work since those clowns had it, the cause of the smoke was a cracked block, and they never fixed that properly, it had to have a new engine fitted a few months later, and the rear beam they 'rebuilt' wasn't done properly, again another properly rebuilt one was fitted at a later date. As I bought it; On it's way to class victory in the sprint championship I competed in this year; Going round Castle Combe; And finally, as I sold it; It has had a hell of alot of effort since the monkeys had it, certainly didn't do them proud anyway!!
