if someone applies for the V5 of your car they tell you thats what has happened. Letter says "an application has been made for the V5C for the MAKE MODEL REGISTRATION which is currently registered in your name, if you wish to object to the V5C being issued to this person please respond to the DVLA within 14 days Yeah, they do. But only if they apply for a new one, not sending an old one in with "your" signature on for a change of keeper.

A dim crook who works for the DVLA? The return address is Jane Smith*, DVLA, Swansea, SA99 1AA *this is not her actual name. SA99 1AA appears to be one of the Driving license department postcodes. Some of them are listed hereA quick google of that postcode kicks up loads about licenses, but nothing about vehicles. Especially renewing after 70.

it might not have been 1AA, I have sent the thing back. I was working from memory. Like I say, the lasses name might have been Jane Smith or June Jones or Ivor The Engine for all I can remember now....

I give up with the DVLA. I've just tried to apply for a V5 enclosing the new keeper slip, according to the form because I have enclosed this with my application I do not have to pay the £25 fee. So far so good Today the DVLA have returned the application demanding £25, so they can go forth and multiply as far as i'm concerned. They lost the V5 that boycie sent in for the 106 for me, got me to pay £25 and SORN the car to avoid an £85 fine, then two days later the original V5 arrived through my letter box. I cancelled the payment but they had chased it and SORn it by then anyway. SO the car was SORN AFTER it was taxed, and npw has two V5's. They are utterly incompetent I got my money back though - I wrote to them stating that they had purposely taken money off me although they HAD the original V5, and so were in fact lying to me for profit. The letter they sent back suggested it was my fault as well!
