Right then..............
I have a K reg astra diesel (GM engine non turbo)
It got MOT'd the other day and on the way back it spluttered lost power and coughed then stopped, I managed to restart it a couple of times on the short 1 mile trip back and once back it has not started since...............
I have checked the following
fuel pipes blown through, filter not blocked, etc.
glow plugs have voltage.
It appears no fuel is getting to the pump - was thinking either pump solenoid. it s got a mechanical pump run from cam belt so no electronics of sorts to worry about.
My question is if its not an obvious fault to fix, what about plumbing in an electric fuel pump (for a carb engine) and supplying fuel to the pump that way?
any thoughts gratefully received as I may need a second car running and ready.
cheers dave
