Went to Mason's last night and picked this up: ;D So if you don't know what I look like, I'll be the big fella wandering round RCS with a huge grin and loads of flies impacted into my forehead ;D

You'll need a good supply of baby wipes... really good for shifting traffic impacted insects!!!

I'm beginning to understand the aircooled "thing"... ;D I still think I'll be sticking with my nice toasty warm Golf in winter though!

Indeed! I forgot a coat, and driving back at 60 in the dusk I was totally frozen, my hands went numb!

Excellent.
What are they actually called?
|
|
I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

Type 181/182 Trekker they were actually called a 'Thing' in the US too...

Or KÜBEL in Germany!

they ROCK!
I had a little drive around NAS in one of RetroSteves trekkers some time ago, they are so god-damn uber-funky i really want one.
they have gun racks too (if it's a proper 181.... the 'Thing' was purpose-built for the US tourist market so lacked the war-based accessories) which is obviously useful ;D
Trekkers are as pictured, Things have big 1303-style 'elephants foot' lights at the rear mounted higher up but are otherwise identical.

Never trust a man Who names himself Trevor. Or one day you might find He's not a real drug dealer.

Just to add 181 = LHD 182 = RHD
