Mavericks just called me, got to Tillbury , Essex station just now, on way home from work, and found his Suzuki carry had been lifted by the fleet fingered inbred scum that live of this sort of thing. What does one stand to do ? Where would this van end up ? Considering the price of scrap is down, it is not really worth doing is it ? Clearly, there has to be a market for them...... but where is it, run by who ?? Pic of the disappearling ....

The price of scrap may be down, but to an unscrupulous traveller, its still an easy £50. Ok, it may have been an easy £100 a few weeks back, so they just have to nick twice as many these days.

engine for someone - cut the rest into smallish pieces and hide inside another scrapper
the old hired transit trick - before the hire companies got wise and installed CCTV

Tilbury is not the best place to have a motor pinched and its definitely NOT a place you want to go looking for it. I'm afraid the chances of that turning up are no better than seeing Shergar again.

I know.
Maverick was walking to the cop shop, only to find it closed too...
He is not impressed.
His neighbours previously stole his new lawnmower and were surprised when he wanted it back.
Thanks for keeping eyes open for it too guys.

That's carp.... My Deli got stolen about 3 and a half weeks ago from the station at Higham. I was speaking to the insurance company yesterday as the 21 days were up.. and they were telling me that the theft management company were just finishing their report to the insurance company recommending how much they should pay me as a write off...... 30 minutes later (literally) I get a phonecall from Folkestone police saying that the car had been found at Ashford Rugby club- not burnt out and recovered. So.. err yeah.. try Ashford Hoping it still looks as good when I go see it.

Hells Grizz!.. when I saw the title I thought it was going to be yours... not that it makes it any better. Alot of j-tin vans go to africa, especially the hiace family, not sure about these wee suzukis but it wouldnt suprise me... and theres plenty of shady scrappies exporting stuff.

They dissapear for the engines, poor quality wobbly children's play pony poop a decent one for them, rascals go for the same reason Went in the frag yard yesterday, mine was THE only car in there, down to £60 a ton and they had only had 3 cars all day long (N London).

We have a sandwich delivery man at work who comes in a Suzuki Carry, they have had about 5 nicked over the last year or so, never to appear again. I am guessing it is the 'nissan micra' effect of a little while ago - They may not be worth as much as something else in scrap or parts, but they are easy to steal, and importantly, they are worth something for a druggie, glue sniffer or just general scum-bag, this is enough. I have a friend who had a car broken into at (relatively) large risk (broad daylight, city centre car park, CCTV) just for some change in the centre console, must have been about 2 quid. Think like a thief, and that is still a pack of fags, a pint, half a tin of evo-stik etc etc
