...you know, those little faults that you seem to fix repeatedly but keep recurring, or ones that aren't really important enough to spend time on if there are more pressing jobs to do but annoy you every time you use your car.
What are yours? I'll start...
On the Golf, I have two. One is the rear wheel bearings. I've had the car near two and a half years, and I've changed both sides at least three times. After a couple of months, they start rumbling again. I'm sure I'm doing them right - I even got a garage to do them for me once - but it keeps happening. New stub axles I suppose, but I'll never get round to it.
The other is the n/s/f indicator. After is was parked up for two weeks outside Rainkings house when we went to Woerthersee, it only works intermittantly. You can indicate left, and it'll work, then after the third or fourth blink, stop. Or not work then come on after a couple of seconds. Or not work for a week or so and then be OK for ages.
Not the bulb. Or the holder/light assembly. Not the connection where it plugs into the loom. I'm guessing broken wire or dodgy earth. I'll have to tackle this one before the MOT, best get my circuit tester out!
On the Mini, it's the exhaust... There are speed humps on our road and the notorious Mini driveline-shunt means that the system pulls away from the manifold every couple of weeks, no matter how carefully it's driven! New bushes and rubbers all round sometime then...

Darren.
What exhaust system is on your Mini?
Niggling faults on mine:
It pulls to the right quite a bit at high speedp, been like it ever since I bought the thing. It's quite sad, but I even know someone who works for ATS who will fix it for free - just never found the time!
The steering wheel is off-centre - 5 minute job just never got round to it (yet, I think I might do this before RCS as I can't see the fuel guage until I turn the wheel!)
Centre air vent is broken - I've not got a new one yet, but even if I did, would I find time to fit it?

On the bimmer I have a "ticky" valve / tappet. It's not a massive disaster and not hugely noisey. I'm just constantly aware of it's presence, and to the untrained observer it makes the car sound like the engine is terminal. Which it's not. On these engines it's a bit too much of a complicated job for an un-trained, garageless numpty like myself to tackle, and to have it sorted at the garage seems like a bit of a waste of money. It doesn't affect performance or fuel use, and the guys at my local BMW specialist said not to worry unless it gets really loud.

The Mini has some no-name LCB manifold into an unknown centre-exit big bore 'zorst No idea what make either of them are, the place that dropped the 1300 lump in fitted them and I never asked... It's got an "ultimate" engine-steady which helps a lot, but it still manages to work loose all-too-often. It's not my car so I can't weld the exhaust directly to the floorpan like I always want to lol

I can't remember if it has or not! GOod tip, I'd forgotten about that, thinking about it my old 1293 had a Cooper 'S' LCB which had similar problems which I cured the same way. Kind of hope it hasn't got one now, if it has then I'm still going to be fixing it all the time...

Sounds like you've got one of these cheapy manifolds with a 'Y' piece that joins the manifold and LCB - get rid of it and buy a decent 3-in-to-1 manifold

That's it... blame my house for your dodgy electrics... hmmrph... haha Hah hah! It's all YOUR fault!! ;D I curse you every time I'm in the Golf and I need to indicate left ;D ;D iRocco - you're right, it's a cheapy one. I'd get a proper one but I quite like the skin on my knuckles as it is thanks, me and the back-of-mini-engine-bays don't get on very well!

Just remembered another one on the Golf... One of the bolts that holds the alternator on keeps working loose. The idle speed wobbles the engine at exactly the right frequency to rattle it loose. Trouble is, because of the water hose locations (to do with the 16v transplant) there's NO WAY I can get a spanner or ratchet in there, no matter how hard I try. It can't fall out because it undoes and then rests against the water hose, but if I do it up hand-tight it'll rattle out within minutes.
Annoys me every time I open the bonnet!

nope its just a Plate with a Threaded Hole, the holes don't seem to be threaded as the nuts are tight but still work loose and the passenger side is never used really. Cus of this i get the missues to climb over the drivers seat making sure she does not rip or catch the leather

Same problem with bearings here. New all round (done by me!) but already grumbling. Can't be arsed to fix 'em. Occasional wham when downshifting hard, presume knocking exhaust/knackered gearbox mount. Don't give a damn about that Rusty rear arches. Used to really irritate me, then realised it's 27 years old and it deserves some rust - that stuff musta fought pretty hard to get there so it can stay Never passing an MOT first time, because i'm usually not around so can't pre-mot it and have to just throw it at the garage. Lack of power?

Few niggles with the Golf
Drivers side door look is broken (small spring has snapped)
Rear washer doesn't spray any more
Glove compartment handle snapped (need to get in there to get a load of RR flyers out!)
Brakes are a bit squeeky
There is some rust coming through on the arches
Front bumper not fitted properly, need to take off and slide back into place correctly
oh and it's got low compression on one cylinder.
