Ferrari driver dies at race track A 59-year-old Norfolk man was killed and his passenger seriously injured when their Ferrari car crashed at a race track in West Sussex. The crash, which only involved one car, happened at Goodwood Motor Circuit, Chichester, on Tuesday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene at 1550 BST. The driver died at the scene and the passenger was taken to St Richard's Hospital, Chichester.
Sussex Police have launched an investigation into the accident.
A spokesman said: "The road policing department have started an investigation in conjunction with Chichester District Council who regulate the circuit."
It was apparently unrelated to the Festival of Speed, which was held at the track over the weekend.

There's over cooking it, and pushing your luck. Not saying it isn't sad, just saying it's most likely driver error

I can almost guarantee it was driver error. But, I know that I have had times where had it been even a few yards in one direction or another, or if my wheels had dug into the grass as I was sliding sideways across it, I would, at best, be eating through a straw...

Yeah, but to be doing it in a car that will eat you for breakfast given half a chance, a bit silly. People need to reallise that they can't just jump into a supercar and expect to be able to drive like a formula one star

True, very true. But I doubt it will be much of a consolation

That's sad to hear. I'll agree that plenty of people with flash motors takes silly risks thinking they're Schumacher, but then again we all make mistakes, certainly I can't claim to be the perfect driver, it's just a shame that this guy didn't live to learn from his mistake.

having driven round the track and marshalled there ,there are some pretty difficult corners and if you get it wrong, even an experienced driver can make a complete hash of things. soory to hear someone died though,i just hope the anti goodwood brigade can't use it as ammo.
