Wow! I used to see one every now and then but I haven't done for YEARS! AS you say, I'd be surprised if there are any left in the UK at all now!

Marbella was the povo spec (if that's possible) Panda.
Malaga was Strada / Regatta based. Must be mega rare. I just realised I haven't seen a Fiat Regatta in donkeys.

Top grammar tips! Bought = purchased. Brought = relocated Lose = misplace/opposite of win. Loose = your mum

I just realised I haven't seen a Fiat Regatta in donkeys. No great loss - They are turd! A good source of twin-cam engines and power steering for Mk1 Seat Ibizas though. Apparently this Ronda has a fiat 1600cc single-cam engine. Be nice to replace it with a 2.0TC, bet it would go straight in too.

My dad had a mega-obscure Regatta "Weekend", with bizarre drop-down rear bumper... It went rusty after 13 minutes and broke down with alarming regularity. Great!

Such a dismal vehicle. I think it would be easy to partially blame Fiats current parlous financial state, on the fact that it turned out so much sh*te of this kind during the 80’s and 90’s. Regata, Croma, Marea, Tempra, Lancia Dedra – all horrible bendy rusty curse word. The only nice bits are the t/c engines, and they’re a 60’s throwback!

I quite like Cromas! My mate's Dad had one when we were at school. Never gave him any trouble in 200,000 miles believe it or not! He sold it one about ten years ago, and I saw it in Liverpool about two years ago. Apart from some Ford wheeltrims, it didn't look too bad! Floppy body apparently, but I couldn't really tell back then... I'd sooner have a Thema though - the coolest of the quartet

Pops had one of those too. Utter cack (although it was delicious compared to the povo-spec Montego it replaced). Suffered catastrophic engine meltdown at 2 years / 70,000 miles. It was replaced with a 10-year old SD1 VdP v8, which was bollock-achingly cool.

Quote from my favourite scrapyard man in Newcastle: “F**king Fiat Cromas, Every one o’ them yer get, has got a f**king rod through the side. Every f**king one.” Obviously not a big fan.

Hah hah! Mind you, most of those type-4 cars have gone now. We never got many Themas or Cromas to start with, I haven't seen a 164 for a long time (although I'm sure there are plenty about), and SAAB 9000s are rapidly disappearing too!
