Hi All I'm looking for a daily hack, possibly an old polo breadvan or similar. I do 10miles a day for work and sometimes cycle it but if not I drive my ITR which isnt great on fuel and isnt really fun to drive sensibly to work and back. Looks like ill be keeping the wheels off my e21 (see link) retrorides.proboards86.com/index.cgi?board=FSW&action=display&thread=45095&page=1So looking for inspiration for a cheap daily hack, pref an old vw (yes this is a blatent pic thread)

I was just trying to think of an inappropriate, rubbish daily hack and Dacia Duster popped into my head. They are Romanian 4x4s based on Renault mechanicals.

i might be passing on the red mk3 polo breadvan i bought recently,my own one is in the process of head gasket repairs and as long as i don't need any spares off the red one i will be passing it straight on 1.0 and 5 speed, normally they are 4 speed except for the 1.3,it drives really well and only want what it cost me sorry for the blatant advert plug should know by the end of this week

had a breadvan, bought it for nawt and drove it for a year..
great little things, cheap parts
get the 1300cc cos that's also slow.. lower it with a cheap ebay kit and have fun.. german ebay gives a wide range of tuning stuff.
try to find some pics of my former ride.. (maybe reader's rides)

My current daily hack: And my reccomended choice to anybody wanting a cheap disposable car thats nice to drive and right-wheel-drive: 190EEEEEEEEEE. Can pick them up MOT'd and Taxed for £250-£500, drive them til they break then bin whats left. lots of posh things like magical windows that go up and down with just a button, and sunroofs etc that do the same, Ideal daily winter hackage! Cost me curse word all to insure and still did 45 MPGdespte being abused wholeheartedly.

old picture of my polo, which now sports ats classics, just cos i love them! all going well it should be looking rather different by now for when i get home from work, but ill post pictures when its done quite simply its the best car i have ever owned. its never been any trouble, constantly goes straight through its mot, economical, cheap tax, nice to drive, and actually owes me money (long story!) if you can find a good one, and they are normally cheap, get hold of iit, you cant go wrong i say

Possibly not quite Retro yet, but almost. With aforementioned E30 wheels: As said, go 1.3, dead easy to squeeze more power out of them, if you don't mind getting your hands very dirty.
