I am in the process of rebuilding a Renault 5 Campus Prima. Originally it was going to be totally monochrome. However I am now leaning towards yellow headlights but otherwise mono, so white indicators/repeaters & tail lights.
Opinions?

I know of a film that you stick over the lenses, but I've completely forgot the name.

halfords sell the yellow paint. I'm trying to remember if its for the bulb or the lense. i remember using it on the lense anyhow. i think i had to repaint the lenses fairly often though

go to a model shop (as in rc cars) and buy some body shell paint in yellow. does the jop perfectly. and if you don't like it it scratches off eventually. with some wire wool. mine is humbrol stuff.

ive just bought some of this: www.lamin-x.co.uk/shopyellow.htmthey claim to be whats used on lemans cars, so cant be all that bad - it is quite thick, but flexible when warm, i havent tried it yet but i suspect it will be hard to get it to wrap around the tight edges of my lights - but that wont be a problem for most.

I've used yellow glass paint from an art shop in the past. Works fine but you do need to leave it (in my experience) a couple days without driving in the wet because it goes to poo if it hasn't set and hardened properly.
And yellow lights are completely legal. I looked into it the last time I did it.. There is no mention of light colour in MOTs for cars (I think there is for mopeds for some reason, but that included yellow as acceptable) and there is a piece of statute that I forget the name of that covers specifications for all car lights; it specifically states white or yellow light. I kept a printout of it in my glovebox incase it got any attention but it never did

and another thing.. if you go for art shop stuff, make sure you get a good shade. First time I did it I got a shade darker than I should have and it looked a smidgen green which was most odd and disappointing

I've got some nokya Yellow H4 bulbs in my car, used them for about 6 months now with no issues. They look great, and I quite like the yellow light they cast, its easy on the eye.
