I asked one of my polish customers what he thought.... He did find it extremely funny that people in britain (who have plenty of choice when it comes to cars) choose to buy things made in communist era Poland. That made me laugh. There's a large amount of Polish in my street, and they all drive Honda's, as well as one who rides a Japanese bike. The only two East European cars I've ever around here was one English chap who used to own a Octavia vRS and a Fabia write-off that arrived on the back of a transporter for the Polish lad across the street to strip down. In fact I've never seen anyone strip a car as fast as him, they arrive in the morning and by about two o'clock its just a bare shell. The truck comes back the next morning to pick up the shell and Polish chappy puts all the parts that he can fit in the back of his Honda H-RV and all trace of the car is gone. Its amazing.

Mr Blitz, that Tatra, is that in the castle museum in Prague by any chance ... looks familiar... Interesting place, that was.

I haven't been to the Czech Museum but i have been to Southwards, amazing little bit of trivia depicted there with the tatra and the beetle in a row. Porsche,a nazi, stole his volkswagon design from tatra although he claimed to have designed it while working for NSU. In the 70's VW had to pay Tatra a big royalty of several millions for copyright infringments. I have worked on Both T series and 603 tatras and the VW ancestry is very apparent right down to the 4 bolts holding the rear mounted engine to the trans. VW rims can even be bolted up to the T series cars at a pinch.

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

Hey, Bob. I'm told the picture is from the Southward Museum, Wellington, NZ. I am not the photographer. Ah... the building in the pic looked familiar, but then it's Friday and i'm even more easily confused than normal ...
