A mate of mine owns a Kadett C with a Calibra turbo motor and when we've finished it and get it re-mapped it will be near 450 horsepower if not a little more! The problem we have is finding a gearbox and axle to cope with the power/torque/traction the thing puts out! So far it's only mapped up to 5500rpm and shows 220bhp without gas... It's got a Chevette HS axle and Manta 1800 box in it at present which are only holding up by the grace of God!!! Anyone got a 4HA lying round? Scimitar/Jag/TR7 what have you... I don't think an atlas will cut it here guys... The box we need for it is a Getrag 265, rare i know but someone must have one?! Have a pic or two for your trouble-

getrag 265 is a very strong box used on m6 bimmers etc with dogleg 1st. tbh ud be lucky to get one for under 350 quid maybe more.. a 262 would do it too is the dogleg close ratio sport box availabl;e in early 6 series and m535's a bit cheeper and a bit weaker but will handle 400 hp easily.. maybe a t5 or a supra turbo box there very strong too... oh and tr7's have not got a 4ha as std. the 5speeder axle is pretty much the same as the sd1 axle without the semi-torquetube.. i may have one for sale soon out of my viva soon if u want one.. I'm going 4ha myself..... also found in austin westminsters, jag mk1/mk2/250 daim' / scimitars/london taxi/i think sherpa's aswell including dumper trucks etc infact lots of stuff. can fit a jag powerlock diff too and mega strong!! another option is a volvo axle....? si

Volvo 5 speed M90 gearbox? As fitted in RWD form in 940s and 960's with two different bellhousing mounts. Whiteblock 960 and Redblock 940. Reputed to hold 400bhp. Very common.
Not sure about Volvo axle's, not as strong as the gearbox I fear. What about an 8" axle from a Ford Explorer?

I have a Mitsubishi Starion and the stock axles can take up to 900 bhp (as proven in drag cars that use them). Gearbox should be more than enough. My mate is selling the g/b for 80 quid and the diff won't be much.

The box we need for it is a Getrag 265, rare I know but someone must have one?! Cheapest way to get a Getrag 265 is to buy a scrap Opel Monza GSE of the bay - anyone with a spare is unlikely to part with it The boxes themselves come up on the bay on a regular basis but normally fetch £350 plus
