i've been thinking, based on my high turnover of cars and my desire to get into a different line of work.....
basically, i live between two top-qwality salvage yards - mark hill where i bought my Audi from (www.car-spares-uk.co.uk) and Century Salvage (http://www.centurysalvagesales.co.uk/?frombluesock)
they've both got shiteloads of easily repairable tat in for little money - example - pug 106, dented bonnet only. £450, cat C, m plate, 1.5 diseasel. autotrader reckons these are going for 700-850 with the same mileage. Century especially has some decent dubs in, they've got a VR6 Goof and some GTis but it's auction-based so asking price isn't clear.
i can spray to an acceptable level and have a driveway for storage.... plenty of places round here for panels etc.
* how much less are people likely to pay for a repaired ex-writeoff? obviously it'd come out on an HPi check, i'm not out to mislead anyone who bought a car off me.
* am i right in thinking that i can return a cat C or D car to the road? C with an inspection, D with an MoT?
* anything else to be wary of? i'm not going be doing it as a business, just if i can make a couple of hundred on a car with a weekends work......
