....oooh we do love a car boot sale in the Pollitt household. SWMBO bought, shudder, sensible things. Like a hamper and a toastie maker. I, on the other hand bought things I don't need, cool thinggs though. Firstly, this....it's an old Imperial Typewriter. It's in great functioning condition too. I've wanted an old typewrite for some time now, I find them to be really pleasing to the eye. Oh, and it was £5 which makes it bargainarific.... Bargain of the year has to be though, a boxed, complete, radio gear included, slightly battered Tamiya Peugeot 406 RC car...for, wait for it......£10. £15 well spent in my eyes! Right, I'm off to play with my car......

I usually end up getting cross-eyed after seeing too many broken glass fish, Ronco country music CD's and Elvis mirrors, then spend an hour stuffing my face with deep-fried E-Coli burgers washed down with Panda Pops lemonade ('Sell By June 1997') before vomiting profusely and going home! £5 for that typewriter is a real bargain though.

Luv car boots, last time i went i came home with the entire volume of the De-agostini Subaru imprezza, No's 1 all the way through to 55, at £4.99 a pop when they were new I got a proper bargain (added up to £275!!?!). Me and a mate built the car and it was poop, absolute rubbish, so we gave it abuse (didnt take long too kill it, it was THAT kack!). The magazines on the other hand are very interesting with loads of old pics of racing, and every sort of car/formula you can imagine. Loaded with tips and stuff too. I got this all for.........£3!!!!!!!!!!!

I had a load of those old typewriters (don't ask) a while ago and I couldn't find anyone to take them off my hands when I needed them gone. I managed to eBay a few off at £1 a go.

I love it, it's just being used a pretty thing in my lounge, I respect it for the fine piece of machinery that it is. It's just a wonderul thing to behold! And when we have people round I can wax lyrical about it being an homage to my writing days....or some curse word. ;D EDIT. Listen to me...I'm 25 and I sound like a right old fart!

I might still have a couple of rather cool old portable tripe writers of 40's and 50s vintage if they are of any interest to you. Very "Naked Lunch" if you know what I mean. Must watch that again soon. Anyway, the portable ones are "apparently" collectiable, so fiver each any good to you if I can find them amongst all the slot mags in my attic?

I love cer boots! I picked up a 30GB iPod (3rd Gen) for a tenner at the last one I went to. Car boots kick eBay's ass for bargains as far as I'm concerned.

Car boots kick eBay's ass for bargains as far as I'm concerned. At least with a car boot, if the seller says its not damaged you can see for yourself before buying . Too many times i have bought off ebay an 'excellent condition' item to then recieve something not even useable

A couple of weeks ago I went to a boot sale and there was a guy selling brand new Honda jazz steelies for £1 each.
Kicking myself now, they would have gone on the polo a treat!

blimey, they've improved since the last time I was at one then. It was all junk, I guess there was a while when people put all their "good junk" on eBay. Used deep fat fryers with the oil still in, manky chav clothes and the like. Not nice. Might have to start booting again if its picking up...
