I really don't want to do this but the car isn't getting used as much as I'd like, and I don't want to lay it up over winter.
My Rocco is an early Mk2 1.5 CL, with factory single headlamps and single wiper, I'm told it's one of just 3000 made. I've been into VWs for 10 years and I've never seen another.
It has 11 months MOT and Tax til the end of January, and it's had a lot of work done in the last 12 months:
I've fitted Jamex coilovers, pressed metal UK font plates, new bottom balljoints, wishbones, bushes, trackrods and ends, and polybushed the rear beam. It's had all new brake pipes, flexis and unions in the last 12 months, and had a complete fluid change. I've also fitted a new filler neck, these are no longer available so it was not cheap! I've fitted a dash, with no cracks, and a complete GT2 interior which is mint, with no bolster wear at all. It's also had a new exhaust from downpipe backwards 6 months ago.
The car has 68k miles on the clock, which I'm told is genuine as the car was garaged for a while, but I have only got the last 4 MOTs to prove. The engine pulls very well, with no rattles, and uses no oil or water, so there's not reason why it's not genuine. I've fitted a weber carb, and had it set up by a specialist, so it runs spot on, and despite being exempt from it, passes the emissions test by a mile.
The only issue with the car is bodywork which is a little shabby in places, and would benefit form some tidying, and the rear arches could do with repairing, but the car is rock solid underneath, infact the MOT tester commented on how solid it was when it was tested in August.
The car owes me over £1300 quid, but I'm realistic I won't get that for it.
Here are some pictures of the car - Please note the wheels pictured will not go with the car.
If you bring your own wheels I'd look at offers around £900. I'd advise you to come and have a look as it's a really solid example of an early model, most are rotten by now.
Cheers
Tom
