I need a car that fits these requirements;
Mot'd, Taxed till at least the end of the year.
Large - Estate, 4x4 prefered.
£300 or less.
For the right car over that price I'd be willing to put the Lada in as p/ex. ( Did I just type that?)

Escort 1.3L estate 1990 H 5 speed, blue, sunroof, bog standard and a bit tatty but goes anywhere cheaply.
Had 4 tryes on recently but needs speedo cable changing.
MOT= Valentines Day '09
Tax= March 2009 (Just put 6 months on it last week)

I have a Renault Laguna 1.8 16v RT SPORT.T&T till JAN 09 1999 T reg high miles and tatty but runs well.£500 no less.Car is located in Southampton.This is a hatchback but has a fair bit of room

Just distance was an issue on the Legacy - had to make the trip after work but before my wife went to work so coulnt be more than an hr or so away. Gorgeous car though.
I've bought a car now, but thanks for the suggestions/offers guys.
