I know that a lot of people loved the gold and the fact I did something a little different with a Sierra. BUT, and this is a big BUT I always intended to paint the car NATO green............ .......so since the accident with the telegraph pole and the addition of the black wing, I've been getting seriously itchy feet to move on with the Sierra and have some fun with it. So I did, yesterday the Sierra got painted (awaits backlash!) And yes the rear lights are going to be returned to standard ASAP. Comments please

I liked the gold, but the NATO Green is ok works well with German style plates on it. Any other plans for it?

I like it, the lacquer's fooked on the Pug roof so it could well be getting a dose of the ol' Olive Drab.
Maybe worth investing in a few rattle-cans of satin black and doing a proper Camo-job on it, you can always blat a coat of green over if you don't like it.

I like it too. Looks a little patchy somehow on the doors though. How did you apply it?

I like this but it just looks like it "needs" something more? perhaps some military makings or some drawn on rivet plates? (paint markers are your freind...) basicaly needs the green broken up abit..... I think green and think of this- but otherwise cool! (awaits toasting from all)

Could work well...Needs another coat though, methinks.
White star stencils on front doors and bonnet with 'Retro-Rides' stencilled in an arch above the star and "never say 'too low'" under it.

I got 5 litres of this....... .........from these guys www.cobbatoncombat.co.ukThink I paid about £35 and that was 2 years ago. I applyed it with rollers and used about 2 litres and wasted about 1/2 a litre in the trays and on the floor. If you can don't get the "fast air dry" stuff, it knackers the rollers out very quickly. I like it, the lacquer's fooked on the Pug roof so it could well be getting a dose of the ol' Olive Drab. Do it! Maybe worth investing in a few rattle-cans of satin black and doing a proper Camo-job on it, you can always blat a coat of green over if you don't like it. It's given me a blank canvas to have some fun, so some camo and stencils will be the order of the day ;D I like it too. Looks a little patchy somehow on the doors though. How did you apply it? The finish is quite patchy and some bits do need another going over so thats the next job, and I used rollers to do the panels and a brush it to the detailed areas.

We can have an (Arnold accent) "Ex-military, stripped out" section at RR next year then if we get enough done Set up some camo tents and netting too Love the look though, works a treat. Thanks for the information though! What kind of surface prep, if any did you do?

What kind of surface prep, if any did you do? I spoke to a couple of paint customers at work, mainly guys from bodyshops and most seemed to reckon that if I just keyed the surface I would get a good finish. One guy even recommended Brillo Pads ;D So I brought a value pack of sanding pads from the pound shop and just went over each panel a couple of times to get it roughed up. My advice if your using rollers if buy the best foam you can afford. The trays and roller handles from the pound shop are great, but when buy the heads go to Focus ect and get the best foam heads, Focus do a pack of 10 foam heads for £7.99. The cheap ones seem to fall to pieces and leave bits of foam in the paint

I *really* don't like it.
Looks tacky and cheap - as if it's been rollered on.
Oh ... it has.
Preferred the gold, but then I never liked NATO green anyway. Reminded me of the Army Landrovers in NI.

was a nicely understated sierra with the original paint and the saab wheels - now it looks one step away from the weighbridge i'm afraid. 1/10!
