I'm a bit of a sucker for old BMX's (early 80's) and have a bit of a habit for collecting & restoring them!
I used to have a Burner when I was a lad followed by a Mongoose Californian. A few years back I decided to track down a nice Burner to have on display in my living room (and ride every now & then) and quickly caught the bug!!
Here was my first retro BMX - a genuine Andy Ruffell 'Team' Burner:
Totally original and unrestored.....it was near mint with only a few very minor traces of wear on the stickers.
Certainly brought back memories, looked GREAT in the living room and got a lot of attention at the local skate/BMX park!
I didn't do anything to it - just left it 'as is' because I thought it would be criminal to change anything on something this tidy and rare.
I sold it last year to fund a few more BMX projects.....I put it on eBay for 99p no reserve and soon was inundated with offers. I sold it to a guy in Birmingham who wanted it to add to his collection - he used to have a Ruffell when he was a boy and was beside himself that he'd found an umolested near mint one! He paid very good money for it which helped with my next project!
