Decided I need to have a wee upgrade from the moons and whitewalls. I really fancy come colour coded steels with baby moons,or beetle domes dependant on what takes my fancy. So I'm looking for 14x8 (I reckon) 4x100 smooth steels, was looking at the usual culprits (wellers etc) but they've all got the holes and I want proper smoothies. Anyone any ideas? Apparently Cragar may make some but it appears not in 4x100. I'll post some pic of what I mean later 'cos I'm at work Cheers in advance

US wheel and sundry others also do (did?) smoothies but again, probably not in 4x100.

This being the problem, seems like they're difficult to acquire. Wots-is-name from dubcircle with the white mk2 5dr had the same idea. His are 13s tho,so he can run normal budget weller's with the domes as they fill the centre perfectly and cover the holes.I think with the 14's the edge ofthe holes will show. Dunno whether 13's would look too small on the wagon...

simple solution: weld the holes up! you should still be able to balance the wheels up, then you have loads of steelies to choose from

I would have suggested North Hants but AFAIK they just sell the US ones, which are in common US five stud fitting only.
Welding up and doing your own smoothie sounds like a fun idea

What about making some aluminium or steel shallow cones to cover the holes in a Weller or any other such dished wheel? Cardboard pattern first of course so you know what shape to cut out. If you're after paint then steel would weld easiest but you could even get some done out of stainless I suspect. Or find some wire baskets and use adapters..... (Not for sale I'm afraid)

excellent. 4 stud fitting on US wheels are usually 4x4.25" and 4x4.5" to fit the common Ford and Nissan/Toyota stuff they have over there, you may get 4x4" which fits some compact RWD GM stuff from the 70s (Chevy Monza etc) and thats just a "wobble bolt" away from 100mm

Getting tempted with just buying some wellers and welding them up,could be a giggle. Altho I have absolutely no welding or fabrication knowledge at all! Anyone fancy some fun and games one weekend?

My mate ordered some Four stud ford wheels through North Hants, was warned of a six month backlog. Evidently the company they use in USA waits 'til they have a justifiable amount for a run, then make them. In the meantime he changed axle from Ford to Scimitar and managed to get some smoothies for his Scimitar axle off a mate of mine. The day after he fitted the wheels, he got a call telling him they can make his wheels for him. So I'd say, if you do order some, be prepared for a very long wait! Have you tried these people? They do various four stud wheels from USA and from memory it works out around £75 a wheel. Including these:-

Might give them a ring, cheers klunk. I didn't think it'd be anywhere near this much trouble to be honest. Mite just buy some wellers, paint them and wang the dome on.Suppose you'll only see a bit of the hole, and the wheels a dark colour anyway. Unless anyone thinks 13's would fit and not ook too silly on a car that size?
Other option was some chinese wires, but bit dubious on the quality!
