If you’re going to see him, make sure you don’t leave without him giving you a quick rendition of ‘Wicked Game’ or ‘Blue Hotel’!

The chassis has been about £1200 for the original work which i wasnt happy with (not done by Chris Isaacs), and everything Chris is doing it likely to be approx £3k.

I'm off to the classic and sports car action day at Combe tomorrow for a bit of tracktastic action! With a video camera so there should be moving images of the Zs next week!
Also got given a goldmine in raretastic ex works parts this morning (cyl head, cam, DCOE's, subframe and oil cooler so Sunday should see some hot spanner action and the Z sporting a J style oil cooler under the front bumper!
oh happy days

Yup - I'm hoping to get the engine back into the Stiletto... might even have it running ;D This evening I have spent three hours replacing the heater hoses - for those not in the know, these pass through the sills on Imps and sometimes are easy-peasy... then other times you just want to smash your head through brick walls!!! I've been out there every week this week and it now has a new vinyl roof, new headlining, the screen surround has been repaired, the roof has been painted (under the new vinyl so you'll never see it ), new heater hoses, new dashboard, new wiring (or rather the wiring loom taken out, repaired and put back) plus fresh paint on various bits. Previous weekend, I was up in Lancashire hacking the floor out of a dead Imp - just gotta zipp it into the driver's side of my one... easy stuff On top of all this, we're off to see the Historic racing at Silverstone on Sunday... should be top! ;D Life is good.

Now I'm just jealous. My Imp's still in bits, I've got my new engine (sport/stiletto spec as well, rather than the standard one my Imp should have! ) and it's mostly together, and various metal ancilliaries and the like have been painted, the dynamo, all the brackets for various things, the radiator, the starter motor etc are all looking brand new, and the engine bay's almost finished being painted, but the only Imp oil filter I had needs replaced, and the clutch release bearing is done, it has a big bit missing out of it for some reason, which is amazing because that was in the Imp already and I didn't realise it was knackered, which could have been nasty if I hadn't noticed, so I'm waiting for bits and and then I should have the Imp back on the road. Hopefully!

Well I woke up this morning excited about going to the pod for the classic ford show, Then when i looked at the clock and realised how late it was i decieded not to bother and go to west mersea instead. After much sodding about I came to the conclusion that the baby seat wont fit in the escort (shoulda checked this first i know) and that added to the fact that the other half don't like sitting in the back without a seatbelt, I ended up spending the day at a butterfly sanctuary. Oh well, best laid plans and all that .
