OK, these are a little bit of a mix and match selection but I have grouped them together as "Historic racers" as I needed a title for the thread and for the folder they are in....
Some of these I know nothing about at all. At all I say. And this time I mean it.
You will also have to forgive the slightly arty tarty tints and soforth applied to a few of the shots. I tried to make them look like "back in the day" photos by shifting the colour ballance a bit, you know... anyway, I like so there.
First up is a Andrews-Marriner Rolls Royce special. In fact THE Andrews-Marriner Rolls Royce special as its a one off.
Essential safety wear is a Panama hat. I will be sporting one at RRG08. They da ting wid the homiez
Looks like a Maserati to me BTW, but what do I know?
Now this red beasty is tidy.
Mechanically injected Chevy small block I think...
Recessed rads like this are a cool detail
prototype hovercars were an epic fail
And I have been telling this guy that Farecla G3 is too agressive a compound to use as a regular polish but would he listen?
Orca the killer whale
XKSS
Fins is in!
I've run out of witty comments now
"Sweet 16"? Never mind
Arty photo processing alert
Guy out back on the right is saying "Oh did you see what he was wearing, oh I could have scratched his eyes out, shut that door!!"
Guy on the right has got the art of management down to perfection.
Now this guy's tent was pure automotive pr0n....
Nice collection.
Nice Maserati coming up
Yum.
more shiny red stuff...
foxy fillies and a fine old track weapon.
here again with only a Porsche to distract you
Part of the Frazer Nash display. More coming on that in another thread.
And finally some action...
appologies for the poor angle but I was finding it difficult to get a good vantage point for photos on track.
KURTIS! Wowzers. They were V8 powered (possibly Chevy, possibly Cadillac) and Kurtis made sports cars, speed boats and a beach buggy kit back in the day. Probably other cool stuff too.
This one has a small block Chevy in it.
And again in Nostalgic B&W. Did them make aeroplanes or gliders or something too once?
Check out the routing of the exhausts...
Direction fins are all well and good until he came to the corner and couldn't turn. He wished he'd fitted rudder controls to them then...
And thats yer lot fer now.
