Well, here she is in all her glory, £112-50 and only 7 miles down the road. 1300 SDL 52k on the clock, always been a local car and been in dry storage since 1995. Here's all the grot I've found so far, the rest of it is pretty mint, the floors are perfect from what I've seen so far and the rear arches are good too!I'll add more pics laterz. O/S/R inner arch N/S/R inner arch (that's mostly mud, not rot!) Passenger front door is grotty at the bottom edge too.

That looks great, same colour as my first one. Check the tie bar mounts at the front. If they're ok then the whole car should be a good-un.

Well, this morning we started with a non-runner with both rear brakes seized, clutch seized and no brake pedal. Tonight we have a runner - will only run on choke and I think the head gasket is gone as it pressurises pretty quick. We also have a clutch, wheels that turn, a handbrake that works and a brake pedal (rear wheel cylinders need replacing though). It's obviously been looked after, the chap I got it from had it since 1989 and said it had (3) new tyres put on when it went into storage in 1995.On closer inspection it looks like it had new pads/discs/shoes as well as rear wheel bearings and a complete exhaust (still got the unipart stickers on it) before being stashed away. Does seem to be a good'un, apart from that front panel and the door being a bit grotty it's really tidy. We're going to let some new metal into the door and patch the front panel up next week, just to tidy it up a bit, and then it's the two inner rear arches need patching and two wheel cylinders for the MOT.Oh and I need to pull the fuel sender out and see whats going on as it's not registering at the moment.Would also like to find another Goodyear GT80 145 13 to complete the set. Plans are, MOT it, roll around in true 70's BL style ( ) then take it to the Goodwood revival in September.I'm rebuilding a 1.75" SU carb from an MG metro and also have just rebuilt an unleaded MG metro head (bigger valves) so those will be going on - anyone got a metal base plate/heat sheild thingy for a 1.75" SU? EDIT - Apparently it's called an Abutment Bracket! It MIGHT end up seing my metro turbo engine (if I take it of my mini pickup that is) come the winter, but that is a very big MIGHT.Would be cool though. Just sorting out a couple more pics, will put them up in a moment.

Mint interior, with Allegro branded floor mats and a Radio (it is a Super Deluxe you know) Clean (but blurry) engine bay Cool stickers I found in the service book, the AA Supercover ran out in 1980. I also need one wheel nut, does anyone know if they're the same as anything else - Marina,Princess,Maxi etc?

not sure the metro head will fit, I think theres an isse with mixing imperial bits with metric, either that or theres a different number of head studs or something.

The head'll go on no probs (both 9 stud and in the same place). but the metro head wont have a heater tap exit (just needs drilling) or a bypass outlet to the water pump (you'll need to change the water pump as well if it is a bypass type) but nothing major
You might want to drop a set of 1.5:1 rockers on as well as i would guess that the cam will be pretty tame.
I do like the idea of a turbo Aggro ;D

Looks great, as Lankytim says check the inner frt wings where the front tie bars fasten on, that seems to be the worst rot spot on these cars.

The interior looks pretty mint, although not alot to mess up inside these old Allegros anyway.
OT: where abouts in Oxford are you, hope to see this orange beast rolling around town

The head is the same casting I think - 12g940, but the metro one has bigger valves.I've already drilled the hole for the heater tap (was on a mini) and I don't think my Allegro has the bypass on the pump.EDIT - thinking about it the Allegro doesn't have the heater tap either.
Yeah the cam will be really mild, I've been looking on ebay for reasonably priced 1.5 rockers as I can't be bothered pulling the engine out to change the cam.
I'm in a litle village called Nuneham Courtenay, most people haven't heard of it even though it's only about 5 miles out of the city.

Update time (now that I've found me camera) Repaired front panel, there was MAJOR rot here so we chopped it all out and added new metal, skim of filler and it's just the job. It's not perfect but it aint a show car. New metal has been let into the passenger front door, here's a before and after - Colour match isn't great so will repaint at some point. Rebuilt hif44 (MG Metro 1.75") carb and rebuilt unleaded MG Metro head now fitted. Overall shot - gave the weels a lick of grey hammerite (half price in Hellfrauds due to dented tin ) Took it out for a spin yesterday on a private road (no, really!) and it drives spot on.Clutch is a bit like an on/off switch but it may improve once it's being used (been stood for 13 years remember). Still looking for one wheelnut!

I wanted to turn this one around pretty quick, would be on the road by now if it weren't for that pesky wheelnut.
I'm amazed that so far the total spend (apart from a couple of tins of paint) is £8 for a pair of rear wheel cylinders and £25 for the rebuild kit for the metro carb!Another plus point is it looks like the alternator is new as well, must of had a small fortune thrown at it before it was stored!
