Genuine Shelby mustang. As in Shelby prepped for Trans Am racing. Note that its a notchback not a fastback like all the Shelby GT road cars were... the notch is lighter and stiffer apparently. Anyway, this was on eBay a week or so back and hit $100K reserve not met.
This one is documented as being #24 (I think 26 were built) and details of this and the rescue of #23 are on www.shelbytransam.com
Not so long ago I did a post mentioning that Checker Centurion, a Ghia designed and built prototype for a luxury car which Checker would build. Its based on their Marathon cab platform which was pretty dated by 1966 when this car was comissioned. Nothing came of it. The prototype car survives and just changed hands for less money than I thought it should in the current climate of collector mania. I forget how much though.
#1 - here's the production vehcile
#2 here's the concept car...
Sweet, huh? I like the American-Italian mix
Here's more random USA finds...
Pug ambulance....
Pug 403
Saab racer
Saab non-racer...
I love the USEM headlight arangement on them. Geeky but cool.
