I've managed to lay my hands on a copy of this last week: It has projects on how to build that mean looking trike on the cover (how to lace a bike wheel into a car wheel rim ;D) a chopper or two, about half a dozen recumbents, and a few pretty cool electric bikes too. The author proudly proclaims the only tools he uses are basic welder, hand drill and angle grinder, and all bikes are made from bits of scrap bikes and the occasional bit of 1.5 inch conduit ;D well worth a look. The website that goes along with it is: www.atomiczombie.com

Yup - like this site lots! I did try ordering the book too - but it wouldn't ship to Belgium! Need to wheedle an RR'er into taking delivery and then forwarding ;D Taking lots of Belgian beer/chocolate to the gathering Good luck with whichever you intend to build mate.

I was going to make a car wheeled bike. build a hub that has a flange on it to take an alloy wheel I have a Fox alloy with a 15" x 200 tyre on it. same sort of diameter as a bike wheel. And the freewheel threads of the hub fit through the centre bore. but car wheels weigh about the same as a complete bike.

The wheel would give a 'flywheel' action ! Get some tougher brake(s),and play about with the gearing....should be OK ! The prob with lots of bikes is they LOOK cool but are a pain to ride...........bit like heavily slammed cars ,or heavily chopped roofs!
