	well still waiting on parcel farce to get their fingers out of their backsides and deliver the bearing that cleared customs on the 3rd in the mean time i ordered a set of Richmond 3.89:1 gears on Thursday evening via FedEx and they are here so a little tip for anyone ordering parts they need in a hurry don't use USPS as the pass it on to parcel farce who are next to useless so i still have no bearings to put the axle back together and no victor inlet gaskets to put the inlet manifold back on with hopefully they will be here very soon. anyway i stripped the axle bare and will be fitting all new bearings and shims as i don't want to take any chances with the bits that were used last time as almost everything inside the axle has a pretty liberal coating of metal filings from the ground away gears i also stripped and cleaned the diff up and fitted a new set of clutches as i had a set anyway along with the new CROWN wheel you can see in this pic the damage that had been done to the old CROWN wheel compared to the new one

	back axle is now all back in one bit and painted up ready to go back on the van tomorrow along with refitting the fuel injection manifold so with a bit of luck it'll be back up and running by Saturday and i can get the other bonnet in paint ready for the gathering

	axle is now back on the car and seems good with no more noises had another go at getting the efi working but sadly it still has gremlins so the carb is back on again for now . though i had a friend make up an adapter for it so it will fit on the efi manifold and although it fired up straight away it seems to have the same misfire the injection system was suffering from so looks like we may have found a possible cause for the problems i had with the efi so i'm going to have to swap the inlet back over for now till i can get a new efi one and try again the other problem with the efi manifold is that its a tall manifold so won't fit under the old bonnet so i also decided to give the old cowl induction bonnet a fresh coat of paint to match the car a little better

	well its cutting it fine for the gathering but I think I may have pinpointed the problem with it misfiring so that will be my job for today to get it running properly ready for tomorrow got the bonnet finished it was only a very quick paint so nothing underneath has been done top did'nt come out to bad though considering there was quite literally no paint left to do it really

	I'm loving this project. Just been looking through from the beginning and WOW, looks great! I'm VERY fond of the MK3 'tina as it was my first car! I had a 1976, 2000 XL Auto in Sahara Beige complete with brown vinyl roof and orange interior! I loved it and wish I'd never let it go Keep up the great work!

	well I eventually sorted the running problems turned out to be yet another MSD ignition box so I have now removed the offending item along with the MSD dizzy and replaced it with a back to basics Mallory dual points distributor and the van now runs better than ever just wish id sorted it before the gathering as it would have been great fun to run the van up Prescott hill . and that little test run was done with no timing only one set of points connected and leads that had the ends cut of and stuffed into the cap because they didn't fit it now runs ten times better with the dual points set up with correct timing and new leads that fit the cap ;D
