In the olden days all you needed to prep your car for a rally was a spot light or two and a rakish tweed jacket By the 80s things had progressed a little.... Old.... And not so old... Imp again This I thought was a bit special although I'm probably the only one with a purile mind, but I wondered how much Andrew got hiring out his heat, if you know what I mean! And this I understand to be a "phantom" as the yanks cal 'em, a modern clone of something that never existed back in the day but looks like it should have... I used to own an Avenger Estate Time for some serius old rally ooof! Hunters! Sunbeam Talbot rally lineup Love these lights and the bug screen! its a honey. years ago a lad I know banger raced one of these. Meh... Also hawt "goin' back to ma rootes" Pug and a pug for the night-myopic RS200 Nice old Lancia in Marlboro colours A lass from the Pacers fan club admires the Fiat 131 "Ah yes, but its a purely derivative design you know" 6R4 again. Shortly after there was a terrible incident where the owner tried to drive it back on to the trailer and it span wildly out of control and killed 7 spectators, raped a nun and then urinated on a small child. Now I see why they had to be banned. Coolest rally car of the day? Or at least "oddest choice" A Ferrari I like (not excluding Claudia Ferrari LOL - Rmad, don't google her in front of your kids!) Rothmans 'scrote the gizzards of a 205 rally thing The owner fot he Porsche was driving it abotu quite a bit at one point. Sounded nice. Another evil 6R4, taking a break from beating up the elderly and selling crack at primary schools or something. Anyone rememeber what "33" Export was? Lancia. I saw this one in action at Race Retro. JDM Drift Yo! I suspect its a Sylvia (Silvia?) but I have no idea. Anuvver Tal-bow And a Strada rally chapper R5 turbo rally edition, again with the HUGE light pods and the "upskirt" shot But saving the best 'til last... check this momma out... works Lada All you Sovski-lovers getting hard yet? ;D More later, and believe me the best of Silverstone Classic is yet to come....

Was there yesterday and the Rally Cars were definately the highlight for me, although the Ferrari didn't appear to be around. Did you see the short-wheel-base Audi in action. ZOMG!! One of the greatest things I think I have ever seen. Will get my pics up in the next couple of days.

IIRC Chrysler Competition Dept did run a fleet of 'fast-response' service barge Avenger estates, but the only ones I've ever seen are the Lotus Sunbeam-powered ones from 1979/80 (at least one of those still exists). They were outwardly-standard-looking Series 2 'big-headlight' Avenger GLS estates with roof rails and Minilites. Great photos though, and the GrpB motors bring back happy memories of chasing the RAC Rally through North Wales in the mid-80's.

If you think the static shots are nice, I got some action ones today, plus video! Once I managed to cool myself down slightly, I might even upload a few (over 300 pics AFTER reviewing them!).
I've never seen Group B stuff in action before. T'was excellent!

Here we go then... Porka Alpeeeen That GS - BODYROOOOLLLLL! Is there any other way to drive a Mk2 Scrote? (this bloke was ace) Group B Lancia 037 Group N (Production) Integrale. Didn't stop it cocking a wheel! Mad-as-a Renner 5 Airborne Audi 5 pot. Sounded GORGEOUS! As did the steroid-packed Metro This 240RS kept cocking a front wheel, not that I'm good enough to capture moments like that T16 time This Lada was seriously rapid! RS200 - driven a little tamely. Another 'tro Vids will take longer to upload but expect some nice TR7 V8 action...

One of the greatest things I think I have ever seen. Will get my pics up in the next couple of days. I concur.... truly epic spectacle! could only have been made better by, say Walter Roehrl or one of the other factory drivers behind the wheel!!

when I was there the rally stuff was just parked. My action shots are all of the circuit stuff. I'll get them posted as and when I can. At this rate theres enough to keep us going for a week or more LOL. As I said elsewhere, I had 1111 photos on the card when I got home (and I purged a few while I was there...) More later. Great action shots BTW

Crikey - I only took 370 photos! And some video. I did have a back up memory card but didn't need it in the end. Could have taken photos all day if it hadn't been so bloomin' hot.

More good stuff there AK & 'wobbler. Top Rapier looks lovely. The Action cars look similar to those that ran at Goodwood. RS200 was driven slowly there too!
