norm that had me spitting pepsi at my moniter. ;D inspiration from the boso tokyo grab handle was applied to a coil cut from the spring of a hardslam car last year by stanton off this very board, which is now manifesting itself into all manner of items. check the pics of seth's ride from the ace pictures, I love that, and appriciate the irony of it. the cut coil thing has been done long before a year ago, and by people on this board as well...! no harm to stant but he wasn't the first! why bother,it aint a tokyo grab handle.so why bother trying.come up with summat origional. you're right... people, stop changing your cars! repaints, coilovers and retrims are all out! they aren't original! EPIC FAIL for a few reasons - where's the bozu? - looks fake - imitation isnt as cool as you think - chavmod. ! actually saw two lime green saxos yesterday with imitation tokyo subway hangers... it does look fake though. the sales rep in the mondeo behind will pull up behind the mister2 and think "what a twit; he has an imitation subway ring on there."

Jesus, chill guys OP stated that I was bored, I realised that it isn't real, and the whole damn thing was done with tongue firmly lodged in cheek. I didn't realise that having a bit of creative fun on a Saturday and then posting on an interweb automotive forum was such Serious Business (tm). Thanks to those who replied constructively

I rather like the way people are having a laugh with it - chopped coils, c-spanners, it's all for fun. Personally the whole 'I stole this off a train, so I must be a rebel' thing doesn't appeal, but the fact that as an item with a fixed length it's a clear tell about suspension height does. Statement made. Er... That's better. ;D ;D

I think the plastic cup makes more of a statement May put the ring onto the MR2. It would actually sit low enough to not look stupid. And as for the "fake" ring. If you run that up a flagpole, I'll salute it.

I personaly love the irony that you can buy them off the shelf in Japan so you can be all rebelious without breaking the law! It's a corporate cash in like buying a brand new "mock vintage" Ramones T-shirt from topshop! you rebels!! I'll take mine off when hotrodders stop sticking moon decals on everything, VW boys throw away thier 76 balls, escort owners stop buying minilights or when I start taking myself too seriously Serious slamming should always be carried out first though

I'll take mine off when hotrodders stop sticking moon decals on everything, VW boys throw away thier 76 balls, escort owners stop buying minilights or when I start taking myself too seriously ;D The only dicker I'd pick on your list is the Escort minilites. That was a legit OE option straight from Ford. It's right in the RS brochure option list for wheel choices. One reason you see alot of minis on Fords is because the factory offered them, and many, like one of my RS2600 Capris, came with them from the factory. (In my case magnesium versions.) So, it's not nearly as corny for Forders to add minilites as some of the other junk in your rant, mate.

Made this from scratch last year. First / only attempt. You guys think? Cost like NZ$10 all up (£4?), ring made of steel, strap of old belt. It looks authentic, but isn't. Here is a kissing emoticon
