I'm starting to feel a strange and slightly worrying attraction towards them Will someone please give me a list of well-informed reasons why I shouldn't get one as a daily? You know, "rust-prone, cramped, appallingly slow", that kinda thing? Or at least tell me which engine's best? ;D ;D

Unfortunately that one does not appear to be on the market !! It's just the token ooofff-pic ! I'm thinking RWD mini with better build quality and reliability, I'm probably missing loads though

The polish ones were made from steel pulled from sunken wartime ships, rescued from the bottom of the salty briney sea.
Even some of the Italian ones were made in poland in exchange for the polski fiat license deal.

gearboxes are weak, if you get nudged by another car you die, once lowered they are so bouncy they are almost impossible to stop if you ever manage to get one up to a respectable speed, people will laugh at you for driving it, and it will continously go wrong even though you think there isnt anything that actually CAN go wrong, they are not that brilliant on fuel either mind you, i have had a few of em and still have one sitting in the garage waitings it turn even with all their faults.

For- cheap to run easy to park and lots of fun, everyone ive met in mine really likes them as long as you don't take it seriously against- yes the are slow the handling not fantastic Ive had nothing but fun in mine since it hit the road, if you travel lots of miles in your daily don't bother but if you want it as a car to buzz around in locally with the odd trip out then its a great little car. the main choice to make is bis- watercooled and the aircooler. alot of people say the bis is unreliable but mine has been fine and you get 2 boots on it (one in the front one in the back) I say go for it they can be picked up quite cheaply and smiles per hour cant be beaten... (just get used to being overtaken) picture whoring -

It's a Fiat Did I ever mention that I hate Fiat brakes! They are small and buzzy and the accelerator pedal sticks out at an odd angle, the engine is in the boot and everybody will point and larf ;D I wouldn't mind one though, a bit more character than my present daily, a Cinqucento, the thing that took over from the 126. If you want a good giggle compare a proper 126 to the new *spits* version, that is really a Panda in disguse.

yeah, have seen a crash first hand in one and its just scarey, but that pic does look cool... But so easy to fix, had one pole axed on a round about sorted that with a lump hammer. Then rolled it a few weeks later, popped the pillars back in shape using an acro.

Saw that one on the 126 forum, very very nice!! That de-bumpered matt black one got me thinking as well. I'm guessing the engines would go quite well with bike carbs & exhausts too... ;D ;D

Yep ive had a couple. Good fun, but very cramped. I'm 5 ft 11 and have to open the window just so i can hold the steering wheel with both hands. Also not great on Petrol and hills, just forget it. I was solely responsible for blocking the A259 near Eastbourne for 1.5 hours, Purely because the car couldnt get up the hill and a double decker bus had stopped behind me so closely i couldnt get out of anyones way.
