i got loads of advice off iRocco regarding the fitment of this, cheers. its now been fitted. had nothing but problems since the install. it was placed as close to the carbs as i could get it and set to 2 on its little scale.now the car struggles to start and when it does dies as soon as you touch the throttle. i had to set the dial to max (5.5) on the scale just to get the thing to run.ive lost a load of power and have got flat spots in my acceleration that wernt there before. anyone got any ideas? the only thought ive got is it needs setting up on the dyno again to take into account of the drop in fuel pressure? which means another hundred quid that i really cant spare for that. if no ones got any better ideas of how to sort it il take it out and run it as was. cheers in advance ;D

s'not being obstructed by debris is it?
In mine the filter wasn't seated properly and choked the intake - Filter King Fuel Filter & Pressure Reg with the glass bowl.

Probably no use at all, But i had the same problem with the pump on my GT used to cut out cus the carb was giving too much back pressure, Easy resolve Get a Suburu one and bolt the curse word on, Much better and sorted my issue out.
Like i Say probbaly nothing the same but helped me

It was running okay at first though wasnt it? I would guess you got a blockage of some type. Take it off and try blowing through it fully open and see if there is much restriction. Try running it without and make sure it still runs alright without just in case a bit of curse word has got into the carbs and blocked a jet

i blew through it before i put it on and it didnt seem like there was a lot of restriction, but i cant blow 2 bar ;D looks like il be off work another week so il have plenty of time to have a bit play. ps my mam wasnt surprised in the slightest at the huge grey patch on her car.

This may sound stupid, but did you plumb it up round the right way? The Filter King type has an 'In' and an 'Out' - if you plumb it up the wrong way it don't work.............

i made sure i fitted it the right way when i did it, but ive still been to check.i have been known to make dumbass mistakes like that. ;D i think I'm gonna take it off, go for a spin then put it back on and have another spin.see if theres any difference.

3 bar is quite a bit for fuel. I ran mine (for a 45DCOE) just under 1.2 bar. Why did you think you needed one in the first place? And TBH with you, the one you bought aren't the best in the world

id read in a number of different places that if you have twin carbs you should fit a regulator. i should have known better really cos i had bother with my e28 bimmer, and that was down to the swirlpot style reg.it ran fine once id taken it off. when the rain stops I'm gonna go and take it off. cheers for the help, much app'd ;D

Those things read in pounds per square inch.i have used them for years starting back around 1971 on a Quad carbed ford V8..i was running seriously stuffed stromberg 97's which leaked constantly.By fitting the regulator and turning it down to the lowest setting ,i still made good HP but stopped the needle valves leaking. I very much doubt you need them with webbers, and when you fit those regulators (which are very old fashoined nowdays) you shouild also fit a small fuel pressure guage at the carb to check fuel pressure,a lean out could and will cause lots of expensive damage.

Many years ago I changed my driving style to cope with rising fuel prices; I have now reached the stage where I am contemplating keeping my eyes shut in order to lower wind resistance.

I tired running my 45 DCOE without a regultaor, and I had a lot of flooding issues - fitted the regultaor and everything was fine.

i only seem to have flooding probs when i turn it off.if i don't give it a bit of a rev before i switch it off its a curse word to get started again. i can live with this.just need the weather to sort its self out.I'm getting cabin fever. ;D
