That guy just told that you could buy a mini that needed work for 20 000-30 000 EEK (1000-1550£) and a working good-condition mini for 50 000-60 000 EEK (2500-3100£)

I didn't know "old" mini was produced until 2000 I thought it was discontinued when the new one arrived, that's why the quip about Soviet Union. As it stands I'm preeety sure the old ones weren't sold as new in Estonia, I certainly haven't seen any sold in Latvia at the same time (which is not a 100% bulletproof argument as Estonians will start screaming they live centuries ahead of those Latvian peasants) ;D

Didn't mean to sound defensive, Internet is curse word for relaying emotions. Of course no hard feelings (I had to edit the first very off-topic rant about difference between countries in so-called Eastern Europe) ;D
Had they been sold from new I bet one would struggle to tell the difference between a well used English one and a couple of years old Estonian one - the winters can be fierce (less so in the last few years) and the amount of salt on winter roads will make many car enthusiasts cry tears of desperation.
I'm sure before long Estonians will soon follow the footsteps or their colder-blooded Viking neighbours and stick many-a-great-engine in the perfectly restored mini's, old and new (in fact I bet they have already).
