a mate of mine has just had his 'rocco written off by some tw*t of a lorry driver.
It's a phase 2 GT2
before the bump it had no rust on it and was pretty straight.
lowered all round
average mileage ( 90k ish )
wondering what the general consensous was as to value, cause i can see a battle about to commence !

There's one for sale near me (higher milage, but clean) for 1500, seems fair.

1500 sounds a bit rich. Not been keeping up with rocco prices in the lst year but £1000 if its really nice sounds right. Only if its really nice though, otherwise £600 will get you a daily driver.
Unless prices have gone up in the last year?

I would suggest somewhere around £450-£650 to replace it but the insurance will likely pay out scrap value unless you/he has an agreed value.

Never accept the first offer usually can get away with declining two. Generally it's the lesser loved dub although been watching values creep up.
Recon probably between £800 and a grand as milage is fairly low.

Recon probably between £800 and a grand as milage is fairly low. I was going to say about that too. My scala was £900 with 90k ish on the clock. Can you add the value of the modifications to it too? I always have to declare the value of the mods when I fill out the declaration form. Surely thats so you can add it on to the value of the car in the event of a claim?

Mk2s seem to have gone up recently. I sold a mint red GT2 on a H for something like £650 a couple of years ago, but the ones I see now are more like a grand.
Insurance settlements are there to be negotiated, as above. Never accept what they offer first, and get as many adverts as possible - Autotrader, Scirocco register, etc.

I bought this as a Cat C write off (bent rear quarter but driveable) for £200 off the register earlier this year. ![](http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t25/Vici82/DSC00015.jpg) I could have repaired it but in the end used the parts to keep my other one alive. Values have picked up recently though.
