Anyway it's gone to another home, the buyer seems happy and it's done with. Time to let this drop now? This sort of thing will always rankle a bit though CM. On another forum I'm on, we had a chap come on there after he had bought a Carlton needing a bit of work. He put an appeal for spares on the site, which the members gave to him, mostly foc. He got the Carlton mot'd, then tried to sell the Carlton and spares back to us separately. He's no longer a member.

No wonder vickytlc has been buying all the cheap cars on here! Tart them up a bit, and punt them in the back of the local paper or where-ever for 100% profit.....sounds good to me.
I don't have a problem with people making money trading cars but I don't want to see that on here. Hell, I even feel bad selling a car on here if I add on to the price money I've spent servicing it or on new parts.
If you want to trade cars then there are plenty of other places to do that. I like the fact that on here it is (or was at least) mostly people passing cars about through a genuine shared interest and not making money out of someone as quickly and easily as possible. :-\

I've bought all the cheap cars. I've bought 2 you cock. 1) A T reg Skoda that's sat outside in the car park currently stands me at £400. Will owe me £550 by the time I've put new tryes on it and re-MOT'ed it. Probably fetch £700 on ebay. 2) A G reg Escort estate that stood me at £205 by the time I'd paid for it, train fare to collect it, fuelled it home, 2 new electric mirrors and ebay fees... sold it for £225. Maybe I've bought all the cheap cars (as you put it) because everyone else f*cks about because they're either "Too far for me" or nagging bloody wives won't let you spend your money! Get a f*cking grip FFS! Yes there are. Like ebay. Where if I'd have got the Montego as was planned and stuck it on there you lot would probably have been outbidding each other at it! F*cking grow up the lot of you and stop bleeding moaning about everything.

let it rest people! vickytlc is just doing what most people would do. i have bought things cheap and sold them at a higher price. if people don't like the price you're asking they wont buy it simple as that. anyway isnt the value of an item what people are willing to pay for the item. if the person who bought the item is satisfied its worth every penny they spent.

<snip>Some whingey dross</snip> Obviously you haven't bought all the cheap cars for sale on here! It was a light-hearted generalisation. ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png) As I stated in my post (which you might not have comprehended as you were probably thinking of just which naughty word you were going to call me) I don't have a problem with people making money by trading cars. The problem I have is with people making a fast buck out of a free community resource. Maybe the forum should have a 'traders account' or similar whereby people who buy and sell a lot and not much else could chip in and make the forum a bit better somehow. For example, I was breaking a couple of cars for parts and selling them on another forum so I was happy to pay some of the money I'd made towards its upkeep. After all, you'd pay eBay or Autotrader fees.

I think the main issue here is trying to sell a car he didn't even own yet. I've no problem with someone buying something cheap, and then selling it on at a profit. This smacks of "I've seen a car, but I won't lay money on it unless I have a guaranteed buyer", which is just pure greed.

Amazing that you have sold the escort that I sold you seeing as not 5 minutes ago you were saying that you hadnt recieved the V5 form, so have you sold the car on without it as I would like to know V5 arrived the day after I emailed you thanks. As I'd seen the full docs at yours before I bought it, and they were due back in my name/address there's no problem is there. Surely the choice to buy or not to buy with or without docs is that of the buyer, not previous sellers? As it happens the V5 came before the "winning bidder" paid/collected but I'd told him there might not be a log book in time and he was cool with that. As it goes, he was welding the rear doors shut, "flushing" them, removing the glass and welding panels in and having a Kombi lookalike for work! ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) Had it just over 4 weeks and it rained virtually every day. If you think I'm fixing cars in the rain to make a few quid you're sadly mistaken. Those days are gone for me! So yes, I was sick of looking at it and wanted rid of it so I could get my money back and £20 profit! Carcraft must be sh!tting themselves 'eh? ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/eyesroll.png)

V5 arrived the day after I emailed you thanks. this is rather interesting as I was speaking to the lady I was selling the car for today, and THE V5 WAS SENT BACK TO HER, DUE TO POSTIE BEING UNABLE TO DELIVER IT. She still has it in her posession as she doesnt know what to do with it. So its strange that you have a V5 for the car too

@ Panda: No idea what's gone on with the docs then but I had a V5 arrive the same day as the one for the Skoda so don't know why she got it too? Don't know what she's meant to do with it as the guy who bought it off me filled it in, I sent it off and gave him the green bit.

You honestly don't think you've done anything wrong, and think we are just picking on you.
Am I getting this right?

bloody hell! This has gone mad!
There is nowt wrong with picking up a car cheap and then flogging it on in an open sale, its what everyone does and its fair game
However if you see a car that you know someone would be specifically interested in, buy it, and flog it on to them at a higher price, then that just smacks of pure greed and meanness. Would you do it to a friend? This forum is a friendly place :-)
And the V5 thing is quite amusing. I'd be a bit worried about the car potentially having two owners :-)
---------
Oh and to add - no-one is ganging up on anyone. Having a similar view about a subject to another poster is a bit different!
