Lets see if anybody can spot any logic in this?? I am looking at selling my 2.2 powered Opel Manta for something better - more economical, newer, needs less doing to keep it on the road every year. So one night whilst drinking sitting browsing on ebay i came across Looks nice so logic went right out the window!!! Exhaust is blowing speedo isnt working Passenger seat split sills going to need work for next MOT and probably more thirsty with it being a 6 cylinder motor!! So the moral of the story - NEVER mix Ebay with alcohol!!!! and if anybody interested in a bwm 320 let me know!!!

Exhaust is blowing speedo isnt working Passenger seat split sills going to need work for next MOT and probably more thirsty with it being a 6 cylinder motor!! If you do a lot of motorway driving, you might be interested that I averaged 34.4MPG on the 700 mile round trip to Newquay in my Ebay 320 last month. I get about 26-29MPG on my daily commute in stop-start traffic. My speedo didnt work when I bought it, apparently its a very common fault. Theres a little white plastic plug that goes into the back of the rear diff housing. Unplug it, spray it with WD40, check the connections are sound (strip wire and re-crimp as necessary) and it should work fine. Mine does. I doubt you'll find an 80's BMW without the "standard equipment" tear in the drivers seat. Ive seen 60,000 mile cars with the seat worn through to the foam. If the exhaust's blowing, it may be possible to have it welded. (Having said all that, my £300 Ebay wonder is due for its MOT 2moro. We'll see if it was the bargain I thought it was)

If I was in that situation: Fix the speedo, sounds easy enough. Patch the exhaust if possible. De-barry it, stickers and the like. Give a good clean inside and out. Get it back on the bay or stick it in the local paper.

I keep going to ebay classic / ebay motors (filtered for BMW, Merc, Audi, Alfa and Saab and setting max price for 200.
It's all too tempting for a loan-soaked student ;D

How much did you cough for it? Paid £500 with tax and test- test is january i think so looks like I'm going to run it for a bit (probably with a "for sale" sign in it tho) will try and do some of the jobs as I'm running it Might like it that much that i will just do the jobs on it and keep it

The alloys should fetch summat, and are they aftermarket bumpers? Should get something for them too. Plenty of e30 owners that want to Barry-up their cars! ;D Looks a nice car, and the things that're wrong with it don't seem that big a deal I'd run it for a while and have some fun with it! ;D I know what you mean about drunken eBay sessions - I nearly ended up with an ex-Post Office Sherpa van. HAd to plead for mercy from the seller! Not one of my greatest eBay triumphs that's for sure! ;D

Should be able to sell the wheels to a BMW/VW owner ( possibly others as look multi-fitment?) for a fair amount.
Then strip it and chuck round a track a few times... or go drifting in it...
