Purchased this off member Timsands yesterday Its got bad news written all over it ;D Only really wanted the engine but then I was offered the axle, then I ended up with this part built chassis and wheels too! Its a 5.5hp Briggs & Stratton petrol engine, which seems a fairly popular choice for this kinda thing. So, what to do with it? Well the engine is going to spend a bit of time on my other project (announce that soon, you'll like it I think ;D ) but in the meantime i'm going to build something out of this chassis and then re-attatch the engine to it at a later date. But what to build? My initial idea is to build a Totrod..... would it be wierd to build a totrod without actually having a tot? I dunno, but I quite like the idea of building a miniture hot rod.... maybe a mini rat rod! ;D Or, another idea may be to build something like the Peel: Wouldn't that be fun?! Or maybe just carry on building it into a go-kart. Anyways, will be having a think about it. I've lopped of the steering bit and i'm going to start again with that. Gonna have a play with some ideas. To be continued!!

We tried to fire it up when we got it back... perhaps glad it didn't work as we could have some limbs missing! ;D I reckon a twin engined kart would be the answer... ;D

I once saw a tiny beach buggy shell on ebay. I wish I had bought it now, would love to make a miniature buggy go kart.

to get it to go i can reccomend some new fuel and stick wires to those 3 points i showed you and keep swapping them round on a switch till it goes.
whatever u make, its geared for 60ish mph and has a diff so itll corner well.
as for rollerskates, i built some last year for a mate, its a frame from a bigrucksack, mount an engine ( best with a complete strimmer) and take the outer off so u have engine, clutch and flexidrive, feed power through the gearbox of a scrap anglegrinder and where the disc goes, put a wheel.
my mate loved them till he remembered he couldnt rollerskate and broke his ankle on them.
oops

Great ideas guys! Grizz, those bar-stool racers are ace!! A strange thing for one person to attatch an engine to... but for loads of people to build them is really bizarre!! Really liking your idea there Gearoil, how cool would that be?!?! I'm still leaning towards some sort of peel-esque machine, or maybe some sort of tiny trike with a truck bed.... a bit like one of those Put-put things they use in India Timsands- Yeah I didn't really make any effort to start it because I knew about the wires. Might give it a bit of a service/makeover and maybe look into how people go about tuning them

If the engine fails ,I've got one for sale with g/box! A few yrs ago I built a buck and mould for a drop tank racer about 4ft long . Also had a I beam fr axle scratch built ,I 'll see if I ve still got the axle. Def got the wheels for it .
