I need to spray some bits and pieces matt or satin black around the turbo and exhaust (but not the turbo itself ) and so I'll need some high temp paint. My bro used some exhaust paint (from Halfrauds mebbe) years ago and it burnt off after a couple of miles. So what's good to use? I looked at some BBQ paint in Wilkos but I suspect it's just matt black paint - there was nothing on the can saying it was heat resistant.

BBQ paint on bike exhausts is common. I've used POR20 on V8 headers, bike headers (short ones - hot) cans, engine, & manifold. Good stuff but best sprayed really for a nice finish. No complaints with it standing the heat. auto.frost.co.uk/search?w=por20

Yep, plasticote BBQ paint from Wilkos - used it on my motorbike headers and they lasted very well indeed. Not to mention how well it's lasted on my BBQ too!

Thanks guys . The Wilkos Plasticote BBQ paint put me off cos it didn't mention anything about high temps so I left it, but I'll pick some up next time I'm there.

Rustoleum do I high temp too- 750deg C, I think. They do black and silver and i read in the data sheets somewhere that it could e used as an undercoat to make normal Combi Colour heat resistant to the same degree of protection (I assume that would mean heat from the inside of whatever is painted rather than an external source).
