[] Heres my new toy,i've had it for a month now and have been slowly adding tons of stuff like wing top checker "A" bar and lamp guards.I've been running it on a veg oil diesel mix, pulls like a train aswell.Hopefully i'll be fitting a roof rack and losing the orange light on top.

y0, change your oil often if you're running a Di engine on a veg oil mix, the veg oil can mix with the engine oil, emulsify and seize the engine.

Very true that, also not very nice following a mobile chip fryer !! Love the Landie though, try looking at the EMLRA website or Adrians Tomcat for ideas. some cool graphics on the van would look great.

Keep the orange light.
Flashing orange light on white Defender = Free parking. Everyone will assume it is a service vehicle of some kind.
Would be interested to know more about this change oil more frequently if running veg oil thing.
I currently share a 1992 200tdi Defender with my brother that we fill with veg every now and then. Thing is, Defenders have a fairly short time between oli changes anyway. Isn't 3000 miles standard?
We stick aviation fuel in it every now and then, but since it spends a lot of time on airfields, I figure we aren't really breaking any laws.

How does the cooking oil mix with the engine oil? you'd need to have fecked piston rings for that to happen??? if that did happen the diesel would be mixing with it as well and tha twould thin the oil down till it seized the engine ? i run a Di on cooking oil, aint changed the oil in 2 years in fact my last one did 60K on cooking oil only changed the oil twice, got nicked before i had any engine problems

A bit of fuel does make its way past the ringsthats why on diesels after you've change the oil it goes black almost straight away.
