Quick intro then, its a 1988 325i touring that i bought with the intention of building a track day car.I could have bought a 2 door i guess but i wanted something a little different to play with. The body isnt too bad but it does need a little tlc in places,I'm currently working on a few replacement panels that will be fitted over the next couple of weeks.Interior wise its totally stripped out from the front seats back.Anyhoo some pics then- The day i got it- It was pretty much standard with 15"bbs rims, sports interior and fugly tow bar! I lowered it today so here a few pics from this afternoon- The rear is still not quite low enough but i do have some new -60mm springs in the shed so they will be fitted this week sometime! (if the pics look familiar its because i posted pics of my last touring taken in the same spot!) Mods so far then- Lowered 60/40 Bmc carbon filter, headlight removed to get more cold air to it Lip spolier (one of three i still havent decided which one i like best!) Mild chip fitted (upped the redline and gives a bit more oomph) stripped interior Ive got some new wheels coming shortly aswell as some Green stuff pads and grooved/drilled discs as the standard brakes are useless!I also have a Scorpion exhaust in the shed waiting to go on. Its a long way from finished but it keeps me busy and out of the wifes way,i'll post some more progress pics shortly, shane.

Cool looking car dude. I'm guessing the estates probably have a better balance of weight than the non-estates, and if you get bored you can always have a go at getting it ready for the pbmwc

Would I be correct in saying the Touring's got the same suspension as the M-Sport's too? Think I read that somewhere once . . . though I may have been dreaming it!

They do have the 51mm struts and front and rear anti rollbars,i think the rear springs are slightly uprated due to the extra weight you can carry. As far as i know the M-sport cars,or atleast the 325i sport, are slightly lower than a stock touring,or any other e30 for that matter. And yes,the tourings do have a better weight balance than the other models so its odd that you don't see as many racing! Talking of suspension,i fitted the rear 60mm springs last night. Its made a little difference and I'm happy with it now,i think it will drop a bit more too once the springs settle down.

always liked idea of a touring- with m3 conversion.................. My friend built this Touring with an S50 M3 engine. Apart from the drop it was totally stock on the outside, nice Mtech leathers on the inside and the powerplant was so neatly fitted that you'd think it had left the factory like it! One of the sweetest conversions I've come across... Attention to detail was phenomenal....I'll try and find some pics of the engine bay.

Seperated at birth me thinks?? (certainly quite a similarity!!) I must say - the IS lip looks the part on a Touring and if mine hadn't come with the TechII front on I would have gone the same route.... Mine has gone now and I miss is SOOOOO much! The spec of it was unreal and I wish it was still on my drive Touring's rock!

I love these cars and yours looks great! I've just done a 900 mile roundtrip to the Nurburgring in my '89 325i Sport 2-door no problems at all. Very comfy, handles well and they don't half pull well at autobahn speeds too!
