:)We need a mechanic! We don't need someone that can only do what the pooter tells him/her to do. We need a real mechanic, someone that can work with initiative and use common sense. We are owned by a taxi company and have a fleet of over 40 modern [but mostly fukced] ;D taxis to look after as well as all the normal customer work. We work on pretty much anything and everything. Can you put up with moaning taxi drivers? Can you put up with crappy modern cars? Can you cope with rusted up bolts on 30 year old heaps? Can you cope with more than the average amount of old Skodas? If you can cope with all that and are had working, honest, and at the same time up for a laugh now and then and can fix cars well then please give me a call on the number in my sig below between 8am and 5:30pm. A driving licence is a must, and if you're not already a MOT tester we'd quite like you to become one! Ignore the date on these pics, they were all taken about 3 months ago!

Sounds ideal for someone on here! Oh, and it'd be good if the applicant is good at changing dates on cameras... ;D

Would be a bit of a trek Matt - although it took me a little under an hour to get from there to Peterborough this morning - and it was in the Merc so not like I was flying!

Trouble is our little boy starts big school in september and all his mates are there plus i've got the workshop and everything i want to achieve there to get sorted first. Also i'm up to my in debt and what with the housing market being what it is right now i dunno if it'd be the wisest thing ever

sent that link to my mate who's just got back from working as a spanner monkey in NZ.... his brother used to autotest an estelle before and he had a brooklands capri so has all the retro credentials, think he was an MOT tester a couple of years ago...

In the spirit of typical Retro Ride classified answers, I'd bite your hand off if you were a bit closer. And if I was actually any good at working on cars. And if I didn't already have a job. And if my dog hadn't eaten my homework... ;D
More seriously - Rev. Can understand your dilemma. Upping sticks for a job is a seriously stressful exercise!

Ryan, buy yourself a van mate, and build a bed in the back. It will do you for the very short term, whilst you sort out somewhere to live if you decide to move for work.
or failing that, beg an old curse word caravan off somebody (try the freeby section of gumtree.com or freecycle.co.uk) and fit a tow bar. You have to be qualified to tow though....
