Hi, and welcome to the board. All this talk has got me dreaming up ideas for a Euro-resto Metro (A not K!) VP500. Standard body, plenty of chrome, original badging, a set of big RFXs, maybe a roof-rack and a severe dose of lowering. It doesn't help that I saw a rather nice VP (not sure if it was a 500) for sale on Saturday....not cheap though. ;D

It handled really well actually, i was used to mini suspension so it was ok, i run 700lb front springs in my shuv now just prefer a stiff car. The one i went round curbourough was a blue r100 with gold compomotivs reg No A18ROV I'm mates with Matt Parker and a guy called Adrian Barnsley if you know them, i got a lot of tryed and tested advice off them, matt runs 600 psi in his 1.8. I know Mike that has Rov( or did have as he has now got rid of the blue one on comps) That was running approx 220bhp.. I know Mr Parker and Ad quite well.. and Awarded Ad the best presented car award at recent track day.. Matt is running 600psi but also has the arbs and coilovers to help... And he has the MGF wheels..

hello there! good timing actually.... mate showed me a video today at work, of a Metro which we're fairly sure is 180BHP k-series powered - well it had "180" on top of the rocker cover anyway anyway it showed it at santa pod, first killing a fairly new porsche (dunno my porsche models, sorry, but it wasn't a boxster!) then murdering a Subaru STi, 14.5sec 1/4 at 100mph, good half a sec quicker than the STi. i was very impressed..... That was Ians or my old vvc metro.. both have been clocked running 14.0 1/4 miles.. There are numerous metro's running about the 180bhp now.. and 2 turboed ones that I know off. Also some are now looking at fitting the Honda vtecs and 6 speed box. I will be taking mine to Dave Andrews for an engine upgrade next year, getting body and interior sorted this year, although already got the 1.8 fitted with a close ratio box.. no real top end but well. Its 0-60 that matters..lol
