hello, Found this site of another forum, thought I would have a look as I love my retro cars.. Had a few so far... but getting a multi car policy soon so that I can add to em. At the moment its just the two metros.. a mg 1275 one in very good condition, only real mods are delocked doors and boot and remote operating boot. And a metro gti se, now with R100 conversion body and a 1.8 engine fitted. Several other mods on it too.. But we have had loads including a rs2000, 1600 sport gordini R5 oh and not forgetting the R500. So we like our fords too. Yes I am mostly a metro person, having had 2 metro turbos ( one with a 1380cc bore) and numerous K series ones. I am currently looking for an old alfa spider.. found one but havent got the cash at present. anyway.. thats me.. I shall lurk and read for a bit now

Hello hello!
Metros are one of those up and coming retro vehicles,.. will be interesting to see how they develop,.. definatly think they could work with a bit of Euro styling,..

Theres a GTa for sale up the road from me at the moment for £350, looks like its in good condition but I know for a fact that its barely moved in the last year or so. If I wasn't so obcessed by Mk1 Fez's i'd be after it I think.

Hi welcome to the board. I had a 114 Gta for a short time, it was increadibly unpleasant but i think that was more my luck with it. i had it slammed with 600psi in the hydrogas units! it handled and lift off ovrsteered like a good'n! I been in a 22bhp metro 1.8 roung Curbourough and it was properly fast. don't suppose you were at a track day a couple of years ago now at Curbourough with the performance metro club and a lad in a red flip front mini with white door stickers was there and did a few laps? if so it was me! i recognise the white metro seem to recall it being there

hello, welcome to the board 1380 Metro turbo, reliable? reliable.. NOPE.. blew a piston out of the block.. HEhehe..was damned quick though. My 1.8 wasnt quite like Andys.. and his car was impressive at the track day recently.. was only a sec off the time the caterham 7 made around it.

Not even the ARBs to help it out.. I had a slammed a series on 15" rims and it was about an inch from the floor.. DId handle but was soooooooooo uncomfy.. The metropower car I don't believe ever got to curborough although their are several replicas of it about. We did own the car about that time but didnt take it to curborough. There has not been a mini at any of the events I went to with PMC.. the metropower car has been to MGM quite a bit though. sadly the metropower car is no more after the owner after me crashed..

hello there! good timing actually.... mate showed me a video today at work, of a Metro which we're fairly sure is 180BHP k-series powered - well it had "180" on top of the rocker cover anyway anyway it showed it at santa pod, first killing a fairly new porsche (dunno my porsche models, sorry, but it wasn't a boxster!) then murdering a Subaru STi, 14.5sec 1/4 at 100mph, good half a sec quicker than the STi. i was very impressed.....

It handled really well actually, i was used to mini suspension so it was ok, i run 700lb front springs in my shuv now just prefer a stiff car. The one i went round curbourough was a blue r100 with gold compomotivs reg No A18ROV I'm mates with Matt Parker and a guy called Adrian Barnsley if you know them, i got a lot of tryed and tested advice off them, matt runs 600 psi in his 1.8. Aidrians car (sooo swet and really clean!) Matts car (a bit boyed up for my taste but its nicly done and vvvv fast!)

Hello and welcome.
That is one clean looking metro. Is that front tyre wear caused by a bit of over exuberant cornering ;D
