My fasty used to look like this: But I've bitten the bullet and spent a big wad of cash to get her welded up and in shiny paint. I swapped the front wings for some nice fibreglass ones that didn't have any indicators fitted- I now need to put some on (otherwise it wont pass an MOT...). Although I don't mind the massive ugly things that are on there in that pic, they are pretty much disliked by everyone else, so I think I should take advantage of the fact and fit some otehr ones. I really don't want some modern car side repeaters- they've been done to death IMHO, and I don't want something that looks stuck on (like tthose standard cone ones you get on Land Rovers). I'm after something that looks factory and understated- was thinking of bumper mounted ones ala 1303's, but then saw some NSU TT ones that almost perfectly fit the curve of the wing. Anyone got any suggestions of suitable indicator donors? and any links to cheap ones for sale ? Ta Matt

How about Fiat Brava rear indicators? Don't know if they'd exactly match the curve but they might look nice!
Or what about building them into the headlamp unit? A very small amber bulb mounted somewhere inside... Kinda like early Beetles I s'pose! ;D

You beat me to it. I was gonna suggest both of those too. Cant think of anything now I was gonna use brava rear light on my moggy. The only drawback with them is you have to hack the lens to curse word as their an all in one unit.

Fiat Brava's - thought of that, but thought the whole thing was one unit- as confirmed by rev. d-d.
don't really want to cut the bumper up either, as I'm getting tempted to take them off anyway.
Been looking mostly at brit classics- MG's, rovers etc... but most seem to have a combined indicator/sidelight thing going on.
the other option- indicators in the headlight could work- get a pair of sidelights and fit them instead, then use the sidelight fitting as the indicator... Can anyone think of any cars with indicators that would fit around the round headlight- crescent shaped?
O)
But as a seperate unit?

Damn... I can picture the car I just can't think what it is... Humber somethingorother?! Had indicators above the headlights in that manner. So did Mercs like mine and the 113 SL, but they're a bit too square I reckons...

As you have already mentioned the 1303 approach is the most subtle, yet original. Anything else will be just a bit too 90's!

That's the one! Can't find a decent image of one but yeah I think they'd be too big.

Bullets are the best looking indicator for a type three IMO or they do clear late model lenses for your units if you want to stick with them Both available from www.typethreedetectives.com/Bullets.... Early wrap around....
