Very nice indeed! I actually bought one off the bay myself last week! It's a 1967 1200 Sparkafer

Had a 63 and a 59 and still love them.
Pity they succumb to the tinworm.
Great cars to live with.
Congrats both of you.

It has had a few mods made like a fuel guage added and some extra switches which I haven't figured out the use for as yet! Just had new tyres and (gulp) £300 worth of welding on the chassis! Have sourced a couple of replacement wings as well.

You know what, I didn't even think to look at what size the engine is in this either.....

Nice This is my '66 bug: Still has 9 months MOT on it too, but I felt a bit of resto work was in order. The doors on '65 and '66 models are unique to those two years only - others won't fit. Also, I suggest you consider a set of Day Mouldings Fibreglass wings - £150 ish a set and they are excellent

Looks good. Anything you seasoned vets can point out that I should be looking for?
Got off the phone to one of the lads earlier, he's picking it up for us on Wednesday while my trailer is out of action. Best make some space in yard for it, actually I'd best let mum know she's going to be looking after another car first......

I just cut up one in better nick than that - I'm beginning to severely regret that.

nice bug, use to work on them for a living and drag race them. This is mine, a 61 that hopefully should be ready for its MOT after some graft tomorrow.

Well... it's a VW but sounds like it was bought "off-scene" as it were...
I'd guess... £150 (but if it was off VZi then probably more like £750... and if it was on The Samba then about £1,000)
Anywhere close?

You were close with the first guess: £200. Yeah, no scene tax over here. Infact me and the missus were trying to figure out how many other beetles we've seen on the roads while out and about.....only one came to mind!
Be quite nice once it's running as there's loads of red/white mini's floating about at the moment.
