Both Viva and Victor estates ARE FAR cooler as estates then the saloon This comment, and this Viva: ...And these Astras: ...And the general estate love that has been flying around RR for the last week or so has got me thinking about estates that are cooler than their saloon or hatch brethren. Now, this is all very much in my humble opinion, so please don't be offended if you own the saloon or hatch. You'll just look a bit less cool when that new sofa needs picking up ;D But I'm finding myself really drawn to old estates, I can't be the only one? The ones I'm drawn to: MkII Granada. I've probably mentioned before, but a MkII Granada estate is one of my dream cars. I'm not a hugely ambitious kind of chap, I know I'm probably never going to own any sort of supercar, so I dream of owning boxy high-end cars of the 1980s. Which also kind of explains... Now, definitely don't get me wrong on this one; RR has shown me some lovely coupés and one very awesome V8 saloon. BUT. Every day when I lived in Bath, I passed a dark green, stock W123 estate, shabby in that way that said "Owner who is wealthy enough to not care what the neighbours think", bought new when Mercedes was a by-word for quality and used hard every day since then. The back arches were rusted through, the door bottoms were patched with gaffer tape and (most importantly) it was always so full of junk that the rear suspension had permanently taken on a lowered set. And every time I passed it I thought how cool it would be to slam a black estate, full chrome trim, over a set of very shiny, flat-faced wheels. Something along the lines of chromed Merc 190E wheels, if that were possible. Or convert it to 2-door. Who knows, it could look curse word. A dream car again... Zephyr MkIV. I always felt that the MkIV was a bit mis-proportioned (aircraft carrier as they say...) but the estate sorted it out perfectly. BUT again I have an ulterior motive ;D. Remember those drawings in Street Machine? The imaginings of custom cars, I forget what they called them or who drew them. Well in my magazine archive at home (read: under my bed) I have a copy from about 1992 with a drawing of a Zephyr estate lowrider; lime green with ghost flames, fitted with a Zephyr 4 front grill (I think? Grill blanked, two headlights?) to smooth and simplify the front, slammed low, chrome wheels in a style I forget. But I remember most of it, and it's stuck in my mind for 16 years, and I still look at it occasionally. Another one for the Dream Car list 1991-1996 Chevy Caprice. I'm not even sure how I know about these cars or why I like them. But I do. Maybe it's just the novelty of a very powerful but sober looking estate. So. I love estates. Who else loves estates? Show me some other estates that look better than saloons, some unusual estates, some cool estates, just estates you love. Please ;D Thank you, have a few more by way of thanks Sort of... ;D

When people look in the dictionary for "cool" they should see.... Hang on....that's not right...no, people should see.... ....I'm gonna throw in a random, FRIENDS based quote (which I maintain is retro)..."OH, MY, GAWWWWWD!"

Estates rock! Although it's a modern (I do like moderns though!), have to say I'm really feeling love for the Astra G Estate at the moment. Would love a MK1 Astra estate but it's finding one

Although it's a modern (I do like moderns though!), have to say I'm really feeling love for the Astra G Estate at the moment. What? Drive one, you won't be feeling the love for long. Especially once the RSI kicks in. Would love a MK1 Astra estate but it's finding one Good luck! I thought I'd hit jackers a couple of years ago when I turned up a tasty one with a diesel chugga lump. But the sella was a total retard, refusing to let me know exactly where he lived. "By the A10" is not really specific enough.

There was a tidy 3dr Mk1 Astra Estate on the bay like 2 weeks ago, it had a £500 buy it now though and it was gone in minutes.
