This is my wifes 1979 850cc Mini City known as Stella, named after her original owner who had her from new and in nearly 30 years only covered 26,000 miles. Took these pics as Lizzie had just finished giving her a good clean and fitted replacement bumpers and grill as the original ones were faded and a bit tatty.    This is a non modding vehicle, she won't even fit a stereo in it. Long term plans are just to get it back to factory condition as it has a cuple of small dinks from car parks and the bay needs a respray and a tidy up. Having been garaged all it's life until my friend, and fellow retro rider peel, bought it it's a cracking base for a concours car but it is her daily driver (only 6 miles a day mind!). Not many of these left as it's an 850 built in 1979, the last of the 850's and this mode was only built for around 12 months. The rest of them seem to have been scrapped over the years or modded with 1275's and big wheels. We're not 100% sure but we think this could be the only original example this model left on the UK roads. Nick |

Thats a cracking little gem that is! It needs nothing, the best looking factory standard mini imo, sandglow always looks different on a mini, much brighter. If it were mine id just put wide steels on it with those hubcaps and that would be it, but don't touch that one, it would spoil it!

bmcnut: It's not sandglow, I'm not sure what colour it is but I had a 73 sandglow 998 a few years back and it's deffo a different colour. There's much more orange in it.

She looks absolutely stunning. Mine 'used' to look exactly the same until it was written off by the insurance, in '96. It was completely standard and vermillion in colour. Mini City 1979, 850. I bought her back off the insurance and dry stored her in a garage declared sorn until November 2006. I had her repaired and bought a few bits, black group 2 arches, cooper interior, deep dish minilites. etc the list goes on. Nothing too major I might add! It can all be reverted back to original. My number plate is very similar to your also, sisters? I too have not seen another one like ours. Mine looks abit different now. Keeping the stripes and engine, not to worry!  Tom |

She looks absolutely stunning. Tom SHWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET! If that mini isnt sandglow id like to know what colour it is, it does look a bit brighter but i cant think what else it is   The one with the alloys is sandlow, the one with the hubcaps is harvest gold. |

not bracken i don't think, I'm baffled. maybe this is the colour ive seen some late MGBs in, i thought they were different to sandglow, slightly brighter, but just thought they were sandglow???!! Must find out..
