Due to not being able to afford to run the 2.0 Accord, I decided to go back to Skoda ownership when I was offered this little gem, a '93 Favorit GLXi Estate, with 106000 miles on it. It was bought by an old chap in '93, who kept a meticulous service book of all the work he had done right up until he sold it in 2006. It lists every oil change, tyre change and even bulb change. It was then sold to a woman who basically used it as a 2nd car. I was then offered it with MoT till September and tax till August, for a very reasonable £200. A few pics. In the couple of weeks i've had it, the rear silencer has fallen off, and the passenger side rear door lock has fell apart but apart from that I cant fault it, i've done approx 800 miles and averages 50 mpg on a run. Planned mods are to paint the tailgate (its red), possible colour code the bumpers, fit the Cavalier SRi alloys i've been given and replace the sunroof (been sealed with silicone etc) This is a daily driver, that will cover between 500-1000 miles a week, will use a lot of forest roads (before and after 100+ rally cars) and carry 3 or 4 passengers every weekend, so lowering is NOT an option, comfort, reliability and practicality is. (until I get an LDV Pilot crew van anyway)..

Excellent choice! I'm currently running around in a £200 Felicia and it's coping very well with daily duties! Had a couple of Favorits in the past, can't beat them for budget motoring with no real compromises!

You cant beat the Favorit for back to basics motoring, would have had a Felicia but i love the look of the Favorit, and i think its a bit more durable for what i do at weekends etc

Whoa..I'm in the process of buying a metallic blue estate!! I think yours would look good with a matt black tailgate, it looks the business on the one I'm getting.

I prefer the look of the Favorit too, I'd love another Mk1... this was mine: Great car and much better than the injection model I had later imo, apart from the interior quality

I sold it to a couple of east europeans a couple of years back before I got the Estelle, It may also have the southcoastskoda stickers on the back.

I remember your car Alan, I used to be on the Skoda Owners Club form, now back again since I've got another one! The last 3 letters were SOE, it was my Grandads car from nearly new. Absolutely brilliant, I'd get another without thinking twice. I nearly got hold of a 14k Blue Favorit LS estate a couple of months ago but the seller never got back to me Rather than fully colour coding the bumpers paint the bottom halves of them (below the line), that's a good look imo! Great pics btw, look like brochure shots!

The favourite looks good, if looked after it last well many of them and Estelle's are still on the road in Malta. I have bought my Felicia brand new in 1999 and have also recorded every single item I replaced. been serviced by the book and every service been stamped and signed. Currently at 50000 miles.

Why are these sometimes badged as Favorit Estate and sometimes as Forman? There was a Forman for sale a while ago, started some googling and only bad thing about them I could find is they're noisy and slow. But they're supposed to be very reliable and very good value for (very little) money. I'd actually like one :-) By the way since there's so many Skoda lovers on here some people might like to see this: A 1985 Skoda 120 in a 90-years anniversary trim. Think it's quite pricey at 150 E with half of it stripped already, or is it really something special?
