Some of these are cool mostly because if the "WTF are they doing over there" value to them, and because I get a kick out of seeing export versions of UK models etc.
But on with the show....
Start with some BMWs in non-subtle colours
This one was for sale
as was this
Is the stripe stock for this "unrestored survivor" TR6?
US Alpina A21
US - UR Quatro
Euro'd 560 SEC
Golf Rallye in eye popping red
OK, this is the first of my "so how the mother funk did this end up in the US?" entries. Its an ARO.
and its for sale.
These pics are from an event and the cars are not for sale.
Fiat apparently:
Fancy an ISO Rivolta? What a name! Heres a couple up for grabs in the US
Now MGB seldom do much for me but this is a faithful works rep and as its a rep you could give it beans all day long and not worry about breaking it.
You don;t get unrestored Italian tin this clean over here. This is a California car...
These aare the photos which will sell your car... This Corvette is a regular competitor in the Carrera Panamerica and won some class or another in 2001, 2002, 2003 IIRC (I should make notes really)
Now this Mustang is also a clone, not a real Shelby. Again it gives you more licence to abuse it that way. Real ones are too expensive....
or this one is race preppared....
More Jerry tin
Always had a soft spot for these "speccy" BMs
Now this is an oddity
One of 56 or 58 (I really should make notes!) Ghia 450s which are a delightful Italian American hybrid. Ghia body on Mopar 273 mechanicals.
Sweet and V8 powered
I'm giving MGBs more love now if they are track prepped.
WHich that one is. $1995 scores it but it has no engine.
Think Gulf look cars are played out? Well buy a real Gulf car then. If you have the $59,999 this one is up for anyway...
I'd like ot know who bought this new in the USA! A toy for the kid who's mom has a Corvair?
Its for sale in Dallas, Texas (which makes it all the more odd when you think about it) for $8250.
Rust free and never welded.
MGC GT, nice. Needs Supra power though
Seth goes rallying
Sweet Toymota!
I do like this muchly
Ital;ian supercar "improved" by fitting a Chevy V8 to it.
this Merc was a special order in the US back in the day. Needs slamming and a V8 and leaving everything else as it is IMO.
This Volvo has the look of a period mildly tweaked car which I always find appealing
Some dials and details, twin carbs and pancakes.
Mmmm, pancakes.....
Wowzers, an SP250! Couldn't be sold as a Dart in the US as Dodge already had the name trademarked.
the interior has survived well for a desert car.
Old school Toyota
Fiat gets racy
no idea of price but these do fetch goooood money stateside
This is just SO much a phalis on wheels.
dual quad
No idea how this got to the US, and what its doing there.
racing pic from an ad for a non-racing version....
Maser project
Sweet so far but an engine full of sand seems to be putting off the buyers. No doubt it will end up with a Chevy 350 in there. Which even I see as a shame.
this 1950 Ford has been built for endurance and rally racing
50s fibreglass specials give me the raging bull horn. Especially ones with V8s.
Thats a Glaspar.
and here's another....
WHat it could look like:
What you are bidding on....
Its a '53 Woodill Wildfire.
Now then this 1954 Chrysler is the winner of the 2006 (I think) Carrera Panamerica. Which makes it cool even if the rally style paint and decals didn't do it enough in the first place.
full safety spec interior....
sod-off big hemi V8
Now this is MADNESS. A barn find of a pukka prototype Corvette....
Its called the SS
and apparently it raced as well as being a show car
and was the sister car to the famous Stingray concept car which GM still have safe.
Porker with Patina
Jag XKSS clone is a good one.
'nother Porsche and this one is a rare quad cam.
barn find with authentication
and lastly that Buick wagon Kustom has been up for sale but I didn't see how much it went for in the end. Veeeeery cool car.
